Judy Coil, of Trenton, passed away at her home in Trenton on Friday, September 29, 2023.&nbsp; She was 64 years of age.

Cremation was chosen and private family services are being planned for a later date.

Lyle David “Dave” Brunkhorst, age 58, of Mitchell, Nebraska, passed away at home on October 1, 2023.&nbsp; Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services at this time.&nbsp; 

Dave was born January 19, 1965, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the son of Lyle and Verna Dell (Aunspaugh) Brunkhorst. 

He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High with the Class of 1983.&nbsp; He married the love of his life, Melody Lee on January 20, 1995. 

A lifelong truck driver, Dave spent many years traveling the country and took scenic routes any chance he got. In his off time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycles and taking trips to the Black Hills with his friends. 

Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Melody Brunkhorst; parents, Lyle and Verna Brunkhorst; and brothers Mark and Mike Brunkhorst. 

Dave is survived by his daughter, Danielle (Jereme); grandkids Elliott and Isla Smith; three nephews, Wayne (Amanda) Brunkhorst, Cassie Brunkhorst, and Nick (Brittanie) Brunkhorst; niece, Desiree (Ben) Sidders; sister-in-law, Paula Brunkhorst, and great friends Jim (Deb) Sanders.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Norma Marie Timmerman (1929 - 2023)

&nbsp; Scott Russell Wiese passed away on September 30, 2023 at the age of 68. He was born to his parents, Lyle and Esther Wiese, on August 1, 1955, in Pierce, Nebraska. He was raised in the Norfolk, Nebraska, area and attended Christ Lutheran Parochial school until age 10. In 1965, Scott and his family moved to Benkelman, Nebraska, where he would forge lasting friendships and lay the foundation for his future endeavors.

Scott grew up and attended school in Benkelman and graduated from Benkelman High School in 1973. In the early years following high school, he tried his hand at several different professions. Scott worked as a ranch and farm hand on Verle Raichart Ranch, served as the County Weed Control Officer, and even a part-time sheriff's deputy for a short time. His unique path led him to graduate from Missouri Auctioneer School in 1976, earning him the honorary title of "Colonel." He worked with his family at the Benkelman sale barn, where he served as the auctioneer for several years.

On August 23, 1975, Scott married his wife, Debra Neitzel. Their union blessed them with three sons and a daughter. When the Wiese family retired from the Sale Barn, Scott used his experience working on the Raichart Ranch to start a hog farm and a custom haying business. When the market shifted, Scott and Deb refocused their efforts solely on “Wiese Hay.” This endeavor became a true family business in every sense of the term, with Scott, Deb, and their children working hand in hand. Deb would always be right by Scott’s side, doing almost everything together. Their names would become almost synonymous because if you said one of their names, you normally said the other. As the children grew, so did their responsibility in the hay farming business. It wouldn’t be uncommon to see Scott and his family driving machinery all over Dundy County to tend to the fields they would be working. If you saw Scott working, odds were you would see him with his kids and Deb. Scott instilled his own personality traits in his family, raising his children to have determination and a strong work ethic.

In 1991, Scott and Deb purchased land from Roy Miller, and in 2005, he expanded his farm ground by acquiring John Snyder's land after his passing. This fulfilled Scott’s dream of being a substantial landowner and farmer. Summers were always busy farming, and he dedicated his time to delivering bales to clients during the winters. Scott took great pride in his truck, which became a symbol of his dedication and hard work. Scott also collaborated with his friend, Dr. Tom Noffsinger, to establish S&amp;T Cattle Company, where they ran a profitable cow/calf operation on the farm.

Scott's focus was always on his farm. He never ventured far away, but he was passionate about his hobbies. He truly loved fishing and always looked forward to the yearly dove hunt with his boys. Scott also had a genuine passion for engaging in conversations and will forever be remembered as a captivating storyteller. Rarely did a morning pass without him joining the local coffee crew in town for a cup of coffee and some “story time.”

Scott is survived by his brothers, Rod, Larry, Brad, Kip, and his sister, Bonnie Willis. He also leaves behind his wife Deb, son Gavin (friend Jennifer, granddaughters Hailey and Hannah), son Jason (daughter-in-law Lindsay, grandson Brody and granddaughter Alexandra), daughter Jill (son-in-law Brent DeLong, granddaughters McKenzlie, Brooklyn, and Holly), and son Jared (grandson Jadyn and Axel, and granddaughter Adison) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-laws, Trudy and Sherri Wiese.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 5 from 5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M (Mountain Time) at Benkelman Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 6, at 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at Zion Lutheran Church with Jim Gleason officiating. Interment to follow at Benkelman Cemetery. Scott Russell Wiese (1955-2023)

Steven D. Schwartzkopf, 59, of Ogallala, passed away at home on September 30, 2023.

Steve was born on March 14, 1964, in Torrington, WY, to Daniel &amp; Jeanne Schwartzkopf. Steve was the youngest of 3 children. In 1966, the family moved to Ogallala, Nebraska. Steve attended school in Ogallala and graduated with the Class of 1982.

For many years, Steve helped his father out at the local carpet store, Schwartzkopf's Carpets. He participated in a square dancing club with the rest of the family and some friends. Everyone wanted to dance with "little Steve."

In December of 1986, Steve married Leanne VanCura. They welcomed a daughter, Ashly Marie, on April 7, 1987.

Steve worked different jobs over his lifetime. Pizza Hut was the one he kept going back to. Others included ASC, The Fence Post, Sapp Brothers, Runza, and even Walmart for a short time. He wore many "hats"... but "DAD" was probably his favorite.

On September 9, 1999, Steve purchased a local business, Video Depot. He enjoyed visiting with the community whenever they would come in to rent movies. For 17 years, he was a member of the local Barbershop Chorus. He sang with a few different quartets, singing both tenor and baritone. Steve was a member of many bowling leagues from 1982 until 2013. He also coached High School Bowling and helped the athletes bring a few trophies and awards back to Ogallala.

Throughout Steve's Life, many memories were made. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, playing catch, camping, skateboarding, bowling, singing, card playing, and more with his family. Steve often would have fun playing fetch with his grand-pups and made sure anyone who rode with him knew what the "windmill" game was, not to mention your duty as a co-pilot if there were any cows nearby. The phrase "I see the tanks" was also a special memory for him and his extended family.

Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William &amp; Emma Schwartzkopf, and his maternal grandparents, Max &amp; Grace Senteney.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Ashly (Nori) Kinoshita, of Sedgwick, CO; Sisters, Sherri Schwartzkopf and Sue Schwartzkopf, of Julesburg, CO; Mother, Jeanne Schwartzkopf, of Torrington, WY; Father, Daniel Schwartzkopf, of Mitchell, NE; "Adopted" Brother, Neil (Marty) Hennek, of Douglas, WY; many aunts, uncles, cousins, along with several other relatives and friends.

When he was 17 years old, he joined The United States Navy. After his discharge, he returned to Sterling, where he met his wife, Elaine (Copenhaver).&nbsp;Harry and Elaine moved to Ogallala, Nebraska, where Harry worked for the Ogallala Livestock until he started his own business, Neiman Well Service. Delores Lake, 93, of Oshkosh passed away on September 28, 2023 at Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Oshkosh with Father Michael McDonald and Deacon Dixon Powers officiating. Interment will be held at Antelope Valley Cemetery.

Delores Katherine Krajewski was born April 30, 1930 in Brule, Nebraska to Katherine (Lubash) and Ed Krajewski. She joined older brothers Alvin and Alfred (Fritz) and was later joined by a younger sister, Lorene (Leeper) and brother Richard.

Delores grew up on farms and ranches in Keith County, Nebraska. The family moved to the Antelope Valley community north of Oshkosh in 1948 where she met "the boy next door," Dean Lake. She always said she "won the lottery" when she met him. Dean and Delores were married on August 22, 1950 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Oshkosh and recently celebrated 73 years of marriage.

Dean and Delores built a life based on hard work, family, and their faith. She was very proud of her home, her children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her chickens, playing pitch, going to garage sales, gambling trips with her daughter Deb, playing pool with her grandchildren, and taking care of people. &nbsp;&nbsp;Delores and Dean enjoyed many fishing trips to Island Lake and Lake McConaughy.&nbsp; She was a good cook and entered and won the Nebraska Beef Cook-Off one year.

Delores was a very hard-working person and taught her children to be the same. She always thought of others first and enjoyed giving gifts for any occasion. She loved giving her fresh homemade bread to visitors, neighbors and her many nieces and nephews. She was a very loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers Alvin "Curly" Krajewski, Alfred "Fritz" (Rita Schmidt) Kraski, and Richard (Mary Lou) Krajewski, her sister and brother-in-law Lorene and Budd Leeper, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty and Virgil Ring.

She is survived by her husband, Dean, her four children: Ron (Betsy) Lake of Palisades, Washington, Patricia (Allen) Peters of Minatare, John (Elaine) Lake of Oshkosh, and Deb (Bruce) Conklin of Scottsbluff, Five granddaughters: Lisa Lake of Bothell, Washington, Kathy Peters of Scottsbluff, Shelley (Trevor) Votruba of Gretna, Jenna (Randy) Ross of Lewellen, and Celean (Zach) Eckert of Hastings. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Austin, Aubrey, and Autumn Votruba, Brynlee, Bryson and Bryleigh Ross, and Weston Eckert.

The family moved to the Antelope Valley community north of Oshkosh in 1948 where she met "the boy next door," Dean Lake. She always said she "won the lottery" when she met him. Dean and Delores were married on August 22, 1950 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Oshkosh and recently celebrated 73 years of marriage.Dean and Delores built a life based on hard work, family, and their faith. She was very proud of her home, her children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her chickens, playing pitch, going to garage sales, gambling trips with her daughter Deb, playing pool with her grandchildren, and taking care of people. &nbsp;&nbsp;Delores and Dean enjoyed many fishing trips to Island Lake and Lake McConaughy.&nbsp; She was a good cook and entered and won the Nebraska Beef Cook-Off one year.Delores was a very hard-working person and taught her children to be the same. She always thought of others first and enjoyed giving gifts for any occasion. She loved giving her fresh homemade bread to visitors, neighbors and her many nieces and nephews. Virginia Sullivan age 89 of Mullen, passed away September 26, 2023, at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.

Funeral Services for Virginia Sullivan will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10:30 am MT at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mullen. Aleita Virginia Boren was born December 22, 1933, to Cornelious Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Wyatt) Boren in Halsey, Nebraska. &nbsp;She was the 6th of 8 children. &nbsp;She attended school at the Halsey Schools, graduating in 1952. She was love, light, laughter, and encouragement. Virginia faced so many challenges and never realized how many lives she made better. Virginia passed away at Great Plains Medical Center on September 26th at the age of 89. &nbsp;

Virginia was hardworking from an early age and throughout her life. Her first job was babysitting for two children when she was 9 years old in Bremerton, Washington while parents worked in the shipyards during World War II. At age 12 she went to work washing dishes at the Halsey Cafe and later waited tables. &nbsp;In high school and a couple of years after marriage she worked in the nursery at the Halsey National Forest. &nbsp;Virginia married Don Sullivan in Mullen on June 16th, 1952, and had four children - David, Mary Ann, Donalee and Dennis.&nbsp;

Virginia’s true calling in life was caring for people. &nbsp;She applied for a job at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home when it was being built and started working before the doors were open for residents. &nbsp;Following her divorce, she worked several years as an aide before taking a year to become a Licensed Practical Nurse through the program in Kearney. She balanced kids, college, and every weekend she traveled home to work shifts at the nursing home. &nbsp; Her career at the nursing home was over 47 years and in that time, she also worked at the Mullen Clinic and Mullen Hospital. &nbsp;In her nursing career she was known for the compassion and respect she had for her patients and families.&nbsp;

Virginia loved to garden, work in her yard, crochet, and bake. She was an MHS fan of the year when her grandchildren were in high school. She loved surprising people with an unexpected kindness which could range anywhere from “My, you look beautiful today.” to an anonymous cash donation to someone in need. Her family can attest to her memorable sense of humor. &nbsp;She loved all her family but in most recent years delighted in the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. &nbsp;

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Mary Boren, siblings Jesse and wife Kathy, Robert, Minnie and husband, Ken Troth, Laurella and husband, Jim McHugh, Mary Lea and husband, Alvin Standlea, and sister Bessie, son-in-law, Marv Carlock and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Chyrel Diane (Morgan) Cerny passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023 in Callaway, Nebraska at the Good Life Center.&nbsp; Many friends said their final goodbyes over the weekend as we cheered for her beloved Huskers to win.

She was born on February 8, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska and placed for adoption with the Nebraska Children's Home.&nbsp; At four months old, she was legally adopted by Rolland and Naomi Morgan, nee Thomas.&nbsp; She was welcomed into the family by an adopted older brother, Ray.&nbsp; Chyrel attended elementary school in Loup City and Bloomfield.&nbsp; The family moved to Rushville when Chyrel was in the 8th grade.&nbsp; On June 17, 1965, Chyrel married Dell Cerny.&nbsp; They made their home in Gordon, Nebraska.&nbsp; While in Gordon, two daughters, Barbara and Marcia, were born.&nbsp; In 1974, Chyrel and Dell moved to Arnold, Nebraska.&nbsp; Chyrel was proud to live in Custer county where her adoptive family had homesteaded and farmed.&nbsp; She was even more proud to live near the Custer County Farm that her grandparents had managed before her arrival.

Chyrel enjoyed babysitting many local children through the years and loved baking cookies for them.&nbsp; In 1978, Chyrel gave birth to a third daughter, Jo Dee.&nbsp; In 1979, Chyrel and Dell purchased the Triangle Lanes Bowling Alley.&nbsp; Chyrell spent her evenings working at the snack bar and even learned to bowl a decent game.&nbsp; Chyrel loved to drink iced tea and visit with friends.&nbsp; No one had a softer heart than Chyrel.&nbsp; She didn't have a mean bone n her body.&nbsp; Although she probably teased people a littel too much and was pretty outspoken all the time, she loved people.&nbsp; She loved making people smile.&nbsp; Chyrel loved going along for the ride with Dell.&nbsp; They enjoyed camping, traveling on the motorcycle, and driving their classic cars to shows and dinner runs.&nbsp; But mostly, she enjoyed going to see family and friends.&nbsp; Chyrel like to play card games and felt it a great joy when her great grandkids would ask her to play.&nbsp; Chyrel was a part of the Charming Chicks Club in Arnold and a Women's Fireman's Auxiliary in North Platte.&nbsp; She proudly helped serve in duties that were part of Dell's job and appointments throughout her career.

In 1988, Chyrel found a biological sister, Judy Mamot, on her mother's side.&nbsp; In 2021, another sister was found on her father's side.&nbsp; Chyrel crammed a lot of lost years into building a relationship with her sister, Sherlene.&nbsp; She loved hearing how much she looked and acted like her father.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Chyrel is preceded in death by her adoptive parents and brother; her birth mother, Dorothy Fleshman Ewers; two baby sisters; her birth father, William D. Bush; a half-brother, William (Billy) Bush, Jr; her youngest daughter, Jo Dee Hastings; and two granddaughters, LynDee and Paiton Hastings.

She is survived by her husband, Dell; sisters Sherlene (Robert) Stolley and Judy Mamot; daughters, Barbara (Michael) Gunther and Marcia (Scott) Gibson; grandchildren, Kayli (PJ) Hamburger, Britanny (Chris) Lehman, Shandell (Derick) Shelton, Tyann (Jacob) Pfisthner, and Jonathan Hastings; as well as nine great grandchildren, hadley, Hendryx, Hayden, Rex, Eirik, Ryatt, Christian, Rogen, and Anders; and three honorary grandchildren, Shayla, Isaac, and Jamie Tickle.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Central time at the Arnold United Methodist Church with Pastor Lana Day and Pastor Bill Williams officiating.&nbsp; The service will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

The family requests to wear Husker Red for the service in honor of Chyrel's favorite team.

Horst and lived on the farm at Gurley her whole life until moving to Kimball Manor in 2018. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was a talented seamstress, artist, pianist, gardener, homemaker, and loved her family and faith.&nbsp; She was a Nebraska State Wheat Queen in 1949 and won several talent contests. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; and one grandchild.

Mary Ann Horst  (1935-2023)

Harry "Joe" Schamp, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2023 in Chadron, Nebraska.&nbsp; Joe was born on January 22, 1950 in Spaulding, Nebraska to parents Harry W. and Orvetta (Crumrine) Schamp.

Joe graduated from Burwell High School in Burwell, Nebraska in 1968.&nbsp; Following graduation, he enlisted with the United States Army.&nbsp; Joe served his Country from 1969 until being Honorably Discharged in 1971.&nbsp; Following the military, Joe went to school to receive hie Diesel Mechanic Degree.&nbsp; He worked construction, became an OTR Truck Driver for several years, as well as hauling rock.

Joe enjoyed everything outside:&nbsp; hunting, fishing, camping, and trail riding with the SxS.&nbsp; He loved every opportunity he was able to spend time with family.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Harry &amp; Orvetta; sister, Sandy Cook; brother, Chuck Schamp; son, Michael Wright; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins that spend their whole lives growing up together.

Joe is survived by his beautiful wife, Ronda Schamp; sister Cathy Kennedy; father and mother-in-law, Don &amp; Rosalie Ross; sisters-in-law, Jean (Lance) Thomas and Lenny Jo Ross; daughters, Tammie Schamp and Jennifer Schamp; sons, Emory Schamp and Andy Burleigh; grandchildren, Shantanniea Wright, Tina (Ernesto) Covarrubias, Justin Coffin, Noel (Nathan) Hinges, Kayla (Mason) Stansberry, Robin (Lily) Wright, Julian Gonzales, Garrett Wright, Riley Wright, Jacob Wright, Aspen Schamp, Elijah Burleigh, and Abigail Burleigh.&nbsp; He was Great Grandpa to Casen &amp; Bellamy, Harper, Geronimo, Gabriella, Christian, Jacklyn, Michael, Adrian, Isaac, and unborn baby boy Ari to Nathan &amp; Noel Hinges.&nbsp; Joe was also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he adored.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church, 340 N. Miller Street, Hay Springs, Nebraska on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Mountain time.&nbsp; There will be a luncheon to follow.

Harry "Joe" Schamp, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2023 in Chadron, Nebraska.&nbsp; Joe was born on January 22, 1950 in Spaulding, Nebraska to parents Harry W. and Orvetta (Crumrine) Schamp.Joe graduated from Burwell High School in Burwell, Nebraska in 1968.&nbsp; Following graduation, he enlisted with the United States Army.&nbsp; Joe served his Country from 1969 until being Honorably Discharged in 1971.&nbsp; Following the military, Joe went to school to receive hie Diesel Mechanic Degree.&nbsp; He worked construction, became an OTR Truck Driver for several years, as well as hauling rock.Joe enjoyed everything outside:&nbsp; hunting, fishing, camping, and trail riding with the SxS.&nbsp; He loved every opportunity he was able to spend time with family.Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Harry &amp; Orvetta; sister, Sandy Cook; brother, Chuck Schamp; son, Michael Wright; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins that spend their whole lives growing up together.Joe is survived by his beautiful wife, Ronda Schamp; sister Cathy Kennedy; father and mother-in-law, Don &amp; Rosalie Ross; sisters-in-law, Jean (Lance) Thomas and Lenny Jo Ross; daughters, Tammie Schamp and Jennifer Schamp; sons, Emory Schamp and Andy Burleigh; grandchildren, Shantanniea Wright, Tina (Ernesto) Covarrubias, Justin Coffin, Noel (Nathan) Hinges, Kayla (Mason) Stansberry, Robin (Lily) Wright, Julian Gonzales, Garrett Wright, Riley Wright, Jacob Wright, Aspen Schamp, Elijah Burleigh, and Abigail Burleigh.&nbsp; He was Great Grandpa to Casen &amp; Bellamy, Harper, Geronimo, Gabriella, Christian, Jacklyn, Michael, Adrian, Isaac, and unborn baby boy Ari to Nathan &amp; Noel Hinges.&nbsp; Joe was also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he adored.A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church, 340 N. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ruth Ernestine (Trute) Tripple, age 88, of Gering, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Heritage Estates in Gering.&nbsp; Ruth was born on March 9, 1935 in Yuma, Colorado to Ernest and Frieda (Goeglein) Trute.&nbsp; She was the second of three children.&nbsp; She received her schooling in Yuma, Colorado until they moved to Gering, Nebraska her senior year, and that is where she met her future husband, Don Tripple.&nbsp; She married Don on August 14, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ruth was a wonderful homemaker and life-long mate and partner to her husband, Don.&nbsp; She was an active farm wife and always there to help in any way needed.&nbsp; She enjoyed raising her vegetable gardens, canning the produce, was an excellent seamstress, and made the wedding dresses for her two daughters and daughter-in-law.&nbsp; One of Ruth's fondest memories was of her and Don raising sheep; she loved lambing season and always had a special touch with animals.&nbsp; Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a good friend to many.&nbsp; Ruth loved her Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for 57 years. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nance (David) Sizemore of Colo, Iowa; son, Mike (Annita) Tripple of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and daughter, Connie (Jerry) Harms of Gering, Nebraska.&nbsp; She was blessed with five grandchildren: Kelli (Tyson) Harper, Mindi (Darrell) Woolsey, David Ray Sizemore, Joseph (Bri) Sizemore, and Dillon (Emily) Tripple; and eight great-grandchildren: Luke, Leah and Lacy Harper, Liam, Landon and Easton Woolsey, Julian Sizemore, and Jaxsen Tripple.&nbsp; She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Knapp of North Platte, Nebraska and brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Barbara Trute of Yuma, Colorado; as well as many nieces and nephews. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Don Tripple (2019); her parents, Ernest &amp; Frieda Trute; in-laws, Fred &amp; Mollie Tripple; infant son, Jacob; and brother-in-law, Duane Kanpp. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in the knowledge that Ruth is safe in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.&nbsp; The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heritage Estates and Regional West Hospice for their love and care of Ruth. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;A Funeral Service for Ruth will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Mountain time at Faith Lutheran Church in Gering, Nebraska with Reverend Richard Neugebauer officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Memorials may be given to the family for designation at a later date.&nbsp; Fond memories and messages of sympathy may be left for the family at www.geringchapel.com.

Waylon Carpenter  (1974-2023)

Virgil Zellaha, 88, of Lewellen, Nebraska, passed away September 20, 2023, at Great Plains Health in North Platte, Nebraska.

Virgil was born July 10, 1935, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Raymond and Beatrice (Hagadorn) Zellaha. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School before entering the U.S. Army, where he served 18 months in the Korean War.

On October 6, 1956, Virgil married Janice Marie Christofferson in Milford, Iowa. The two were blessed with three daughters: Cynthia, Marcy, and Sandra. The couple made their home at Spirit Lake, Iowa, before moving to Hartley, Iowa, and later Denver, Colorado, in the early 1960s. Virgil worked at Central Cycle and Marine in retail before going to work with his longtime friend, Kenny Hoyer, at Kenny's Marine. Virgil enjoyed success in the retail boat industry, in a career that spanned over 25 years.

Virgil and Jan moved to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska in the late 1980s and cherished the richness of retirement and a slower pace of life.

Virgil had a genuine love for the outdoors, which was something he shared with his daughter Sandra and grandsons Ryan, CJ, and Ryker. He loved to hunt, boat, fish, and dance. Virgil was also an outstanding skier, whether on snow or water. He also had an appreciation for cars and kept his with meticulous care.

Virgil was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Zellaha, and mother, Beatrice Zellaha; wife, Janice; along with a brother, Richard Zellaha.

Survivors include his children, three daughters, Cynthia (Brian) Cook of Castle Rock, CO, Marcy Starner (Vincent Caward) of Indianapolis, IN, and Sandra (Robin) Ball-George of Lochbuie, CO; six grandchildren, Ryan, Linsey, Ryker, C.J., Chadd, and Madison; five great-grandchildren, Colton, Aubree, and Jackson, Casen, Bradley; a brother, Dennis Zellaha of Milford, IA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Virgil L. Zellaha (1935-2023)

Jean Ann Krajewski, 78, of Ogallala, passed away September 21, 2023, at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, CO.

Jean was born June 30, 1945, at Central City, Nebraska, to Russell F. &amp; Mae M. (Reeb) Lindgren. The family moved to Sidney before relocating to Ogallala when Jean was a Junior in high school.

Jean graduated from Ogallala High School in 1963 and then married Bernard James "Jim" Vasa Jr. in 1964. Their union was blessed with a son, Jamie; however, Jim died in a tragic farming accident five months before the birth of Jamie.

After the death of her husband, Jean spent a brief season of life on the East Coast, where she welcomed a daughter into the world, Carolyn, a name that means "strong" and "brave."

Jean would later return to Ogallala, where she worked at Hoke's Cafe. And on February 10, 1968, Jean married Jerry Krajewski, and their union was blessed with three children: Justin, Jody, and Jason. She spent many years working at Sixth Street Food Store and Good Air in Ogallala, where she made many, many lifelong friends.

Jean continued to work as the family grew and was highly active at St. Luke's Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar Society, held Bible studies, and was very engaged in Magnificat over the years. Jean had a keen sense of fashion and was ever classy in her dress. She also loved to travel and enjoyed trips to such places as Italy, Sweden, China, Canada, and Mexico, to name a few.

To speak of Jean meant also to witness to her great joy. She was a kindred spirit, reliably finding the laughter in situations. She could also be counted on for good sarcastic humor. Jean loved to have fun, and her attitude was light and had a way of illuminating the overcast moments.

Jean loved Jesus, and HE accompanied her through all the hills and valleys that life would bring, growing her faith along the way. She praised HIM in good times and hard times, and HE, of course, was ever faithful.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bernard James "Jim" Vasa Jr.; granddaughter, Marcella Grace Cook; brother, Russell Forrest Lindgren; and brother-in-law, Otis Williamson.

Jean Krajewski (1945-2023)

On September 20, 2023, at the age of 43, Candy Jo (Jochum) Sailor passed away at her home in Maywood, Nebraska.&nbsp; 

Candy, the daughter of Paul and Dixie Jochum, was born in North Platte on June 22, 1980.&nbsp; She grew up in Sutherland where she graduated from Sutherland High School in 1998.

Candy married Rocky Sailor in 2004 and from this union two beautiful kids were born.&nbsp; She loved being a mother and was active in their lives, whether it was 4-H, FFA or various school activities.&nbsp; 

Candy spent most of her life caring for others.&nbsp; She worked in various nursing homes as a caregiver and was like a mother to many.&nbsp; She also followed in her dad's footsteps and became an emergency volunteer.&nbsp; Candy lived in Frontier County and was with the ambulance service for 10 years.&nbsp; She was also a dispatcher at the sheriff's office for 7 years.

Candy enjoyed being a cheerleader in high school and later liked going to concerts to hear her cousins music.&nbsp; She especially loved her family and spending time with them and most notably, loved taking family vacations.&nbsp; Candy is greatly missed and will be forever loved.

She is now in heaven with her dad, Paul; uncle Randy Jochum; and her grandparents, Bud and Arlene Jochum.

Candy leaves behind her children, Layton and Taren Sailor of Maywood, Nebraska and their father, Rocky; her mother, Dixie Jochum; and sister, Dawn (Daniel) Small of Sutherland, Nebraska; and nephews, Ashton Jochum and Quintin Arellano; grandparents, Donald and Daisy Miller of North Platte., Nebraska; uncles, Bill (Judy) Jochum of Lincoln, Nebraska, Howdy (Deb) Jochum of Sutherland, Nebraska, and Larry (Christy) Jochum of Lincoln, Nebraska; her aunts, Donna (Lyle) Urbanec of Raymond, Nebraska, Dianne Ponce of North Platte, Nebraska,&nbsp; and Kristi Jochum of Kearney, Nebraska; and many cousins and other family.

 </figure>On September 20, 2023, at the age of 43, Candy Jo (Jochum) Sailor passed away at her home in Maywood, Nebraska.&nbsp; Candy, the daughter of Paul and Dixie Jochum, was born in North Platte on June 22, 1980.&nbsp; She grew up in Sutherland where she graduated from Sutherland High School in 1998.Candy married Rocky Sailor in 2004 and from this union two beautiful kids were born.&nbsp; She loved being a mother and was active in their lives, whether it was 4-H, FFA or various school activities.&nbsp; Candy spent most of her life caring for others.&nbsp; She worked in various nursing homes as a caregiver and was like a mother to many.&nbsp; She also followed in her dad's footsteps and became an emergency volunteer.&nbsp; Candy lived in Frontier County and was with the ambulance service for 10 years.&nbsp; She was also a dispatcher at the sheriff's office for 7 years.Candy enjoyed being a cheerleader in high school and later liked going to concerts to hear her cousins music.&nbsp; She especially loved her family and spending time with them and most notably, loved taking family vacations.&nbsp; Candy is greatly missed and will be forever loved.She is now in heaven with her dad, Paul; uncle Randy Jochum; and her grandparents, Bud and Arlene Jochum.Candy leaves behind her children, Layton and Taren Sailor of Maywood, Nebraska and their father, Rocky; her mother, Dixie Jochum; and sister, Dawn (Daniel) Small of Sutherland, Nebraska; and nephews, Ashton Jochum and Quintin Arellano; grandparents, Donald and Daisy Miller of North Platte., Nebraska; uncles, Bill (Judy) Jochum of Lincoln, Nebraska, Howdy (Deb) Jochum of Sutherland, Nebraska, and Larry (Christy) Jochum of Lincoln, Nebraska; her aunts, Donna (Lyle) Urbanec of Raymond, Nebraska, Dianne Ponce of North Platte, Nebraska,&nbsp; and Kristi Jochum of Kearney, Nebraska; and many cousins and other family. Candy Jo (Jochum) Sailor  (1980-2023)

Mildred Hoatson of rural Hershey, Nebraska peacefully passed away at age 95 on September 20, 2023 while recently staying at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, Nebraska.

Mildred was born south of Hershey to Louie T. and Agnes (Frimel) Broeder on October 26, 1927.&nbsp; She attended one-room K-8 schools southeast of Hershey, often getting to school riding on horseback with her siblings, then boarded in North Platte, NE to attend high school.&nbsp; Mildred graduated from North Platte High School in 1945, then obtained her teaching certificate and taught K-8 at Lower Birdwood County School, northwest of Hershey, NE.

While teaching, Mildred met Fred Hoatson who was working with his father and brothers on the family farm on Birdwood Creek.&nbsp; The couple wed on May 17, 1947.&nbsp; They had two sons, Claude and Blaine, and continued working on the farm.&nbsp; The family hand-milked 6 to 8 dairy cows daily for many years and sold the cream to purchase most of the groceries.

Besides raising the boys, Mildred also helped supplement the family income by raising chickens and had a large garden every year, canning some of the produce.&nbsp; At each of the two houses where the family lived, Mildred had large strawberry patches which produced gallons and gallons of berries each day at peak production.&nbsp; When she got tired of picking, she'd invite others to come and 'pick their own.'&nbsp; Along with her garden produce, Mildred grew flowers that were prize winners at the Lincoln County Fair; she has the ribbons to show for this.

Mildred was active in the Hershey United Methodist Church and served two terms as president of the UMW, and was a member of the Lower Birdwood School Board for most of the years her sons attended that school.

Fred and Mildred enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends around the U.S., as well as trips to Alaska, New England for fall foliage, Australia and New Zealand.&nbsp; After Fred's death in 2013, Mildred continued to live at home.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mildred's hobbies included counted cross-stitch and crocheted needlework.&nbsp; She spent countless hours working on these to produced Christmas ornaments, pictures, and framed family names for newlyweds and other family members.

Along with her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Maxine (Glenn) Price and Iola Broeder; brother, Lyle Broeder; in-laws, William and Ruba Hoatson; brothers-in-law, Frank (Dorothy: Hoatson and Earl (Millie) Hoatson; and several nieces, nephews, and countless neighbors and friends.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Claude (Kelly) Hoatson and Blaine (Nancy) Hoatson of rural Hershey, NE; grandchildren, Riley Hoatson of Hershey, NE, Adam Hoatson (Stephanie Simpson) of Sutherland, NE, Madison Hoatson of North Platte, NE, and Colin Hoatson of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Janet Broeder of Hershey, NE; many nieces, nephews, and other family as well as her friends and neighbors.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Central time on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Hershey United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Visitation is Monday, September 25, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central time and with family greeting from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Central time at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.

Martina LaDeaux  (1948-2023)

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betty Fern Clark was born on July 31, 1924 at Cody, Nebraska.&nbsp; She was the 8th of 10 children born to Charles and Gertrude (Savage) Clark.&nbsp; Mrs. Shields passed away on September 16, 2023 in Gordon, Nebraska. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betty was baptized at Hunts Chapel Methodist Church in Cody, NE.&nbsp; She joined this church in her early teens.&nbsp; Betty attended Cody Public School and graduated in May 1943.&nbsp; She taught Sunday School, was a member of the United Methodist Women, and an active member of the Town &amp; Country Community Club. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Since her dad worked for the railroad as a night watchman, he had free passes for his family to travel.&nbsp; They took advantage of this by visiting an uncle in Rushville, and her dad's side of the family in Indiana. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betty met Harvey Shields at an American Legion WWII scrap drive in Cody.&nbsp; They were married on May 7, 1944.&nbsp; Harvey and Betty worked on several ranches around the county, moving into Cody in 1968. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betty was the assistant cook at the school and retired after 20 years of preparing school meals.&nbsp; She was known for her chocolate marshmallow bars.&nbsp; These drew young and old for a Halloween treat. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Harvey and Betty did not have children of their own, but had plenty of nieces and nephews to spoil.&nbsp; Harvey passed away on August 8, 2003.&nbsp; Betty continued to take an interest in not only her many nieces and nephews, but other children as well. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;It is known only to Betty as to how many good deeds she did, including giving many people starts to her plants, food sharing her garden produce, etc. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;As the years wore on, her health began to fail.&nbsp; She fractured her hip and entered the Country Side Care in Gordon, NE.&nbsp; Even with her body failing, her mind remained very sharp.&nbsp; Betty always wanted to know the Cody news, as well as keeping up on her family and friends. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betty, at the age of 99, went peacefully to her heavenly home to join her husband, Harvey, and all of her siblings: Marguerite (Max) Wobig, Hazel (Bud) Morton, Ruby (Arnold) Wobig, Opal (Jack) Bennett, Juel (Sam) Whitsett, Charles R. (Joan) Clark, Lucille (John) Faubion, Louis (Minter) Orcutt, and Mitchel (Rowena) Clark. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betty was truly a woman with a "Golden Heart," and will be missed by all who knew her. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Funeral Service for Betty Shields, age 99, of Cody, Nebraska will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time at Hunts Chapel in Cody, Nebraska.&nbsp; The burial will follow at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Cody.&nbsp; Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church in Cody.

Louise Keenan  (1934-2023)

&nbsp; Ralph Eugene Langhofer was born to David Langhofer, Jr. and Minnie (Abel) on June 15, 1936, in Bayard, NE. Ralph grew up in Bayard and graduated from Bayard High School in 1954. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Chadron State College while serving as an E2 in the Air National Guard. Ralph began his career at Pure Grow Chemical. Shortly thereafter, he married Linda Townsend and expanded their family by having two daughters, Heather and Wendi.

In 1973, Ralph was recruited and moved his family to Imperial, NE where he joined the team at Brown Chemical, Co. After a few years, he transitioned to Chase County Grain to advance his career where he was soon promoted to General Manager. In 1977, he married Lois Ann Likens until she passed in 1991. Ralph began his retirement years in 1997.Ralph excelled professionally, achieving recognition for his management abilities. He also found success in personal interests, from football and shooting to bowling and golf. This can be seen through the numerous trophies and score cards found tucked away.

Ralph enjoyed all aspects of golf, playing, watching, and organizing a fantasy golf league. He spent many hours in his “pro shop” (in his basement), providing custom clubs and professionally fitting them for family, friends and clients. His analytical mind and attention to detail helped him bring new technology to the area.

Ralph’s amazing qualities are what attracted Patricia (Pat) to him. They enjoyed each other’s company. Over the years, one would know how to find them as they were either out to eat on date night or spending time together on the course.

Ralph is survived by his life partner, Patricia (Pat) O’Brien; daughters, Heather Langhofer-Classen of Phoenix, AZ and Wendi Nordhausen (Nate) of Wauneta, NE; stepdaughters, Valerie Brush and Yolanda Ambrosek; sister-in-law, Paulyne Langhofer; his grandchildren, Aaron Classen (Cindy) of Phoenix, AZ, Zackary Classen of Lincoln, NE, Brooklyn Brott (Tristan) of Ogallala, NE, Hannah Curl (Luke) and Brody Nordhausen, all of Wauneta, NE; Great grandchildren, Jaxon Classen, baby Classen, Emerson Brott and Haven Curl; step grandchildren, Clint Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Joseph Ambrosek, and Gerald Ambrosek; nephew, Denis Langhofer; and niece, Renee Burke.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Linda and Lois Ann; stepdaughter, Lynette Johnson; and brother, Robert Langhofer.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. MT Monday, September 25 at Imperial Berean Church with Pastor Matt Maxwell officiating. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials in Ralph’s memory have been suggested to the Chase County Hospital Foundation and Enders Lake Golf Course.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ralph Eugene Langhofer (1936-2023)

&nbsp; Lynn Gordon Haarberg was born July 10, 1941, in Imperial, Nebraska to Henry and Esther (Buss) Haarberg. Lynn grew up in the Wauneta area and attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and was baptized on July 27, 1941 and later confirmed into the faith on April 3, 1955.

Lynn graduated from Wauneta High School in 1959 and worked briefly for Frontier Airlines in Lincoln, NE. This lasted a short period of time until Lynn was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country from 1964-1965 during the Viet Nam Conflict.

Upon his return from service, Lynn met and married the love of his life, Darlene Baldonado on November 26, 1967 a love which lasted until 2016 when Darlene passed away. The couple farmed and ranched Charolais Cattle on the North Divide until retiring in 2004 when Lynn and Darlene decided to move into Wauneta.

Lynn is survived by his daughter, Theresa Haarberg of Lincoln, NE; his brother, Kent Haarberg and wife Elaine of Kearney, NE; sister-in-law, Sharon Haarberg of Wauneta, NE.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Haarberg; his parents; and brother, Lavon Haarberg.

Public Visitation for Lynn will be held from 5:00 p.m. MT - 7:00 p.m. MT on Tuesday, September 19 at Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta. Mildred “Midge” Eilene Hansen, age 74 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Perkins County Hospital in Grant, NE.

Midge was born to Curtis and Mildred (Delatour) Huckfeldt, June 14, 1949 in Lewellen, NE.&nbsp; She attended school in Lewellen and graduated from Lewellen High School in 1967. Midge went on to attend Nursing School in Denver, CO. She then returned to Ogallala, NE, where she worked for Indian Hills Manor and Chapel Nursing Home and then Perkins County Nursing Home until her retirement in 2015 from healthcare.

She enjoyed having holidays with her Grandchildren and loved attending their school activities. She also found joy in making blankets for the hospital and her friends.

She is survived by her Sons, John (Gretchen) Nowak of North Platte, NE, and Scott (Megan) Nowak of Keystone; Grandchildren, Bentley and Landen Nowak of North Platte, NE, and Kolby and Presley Nowak of Keystone, NE; Two brothers. Steve Huckfeldt of Morell, NE, and Melvin East of Seward, NE; and two sisters, Monia Biehn of Boulder, CO, and LaVaughn (Melvin) Shipman of Yankton, SD.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 21st, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in Draucker Funeral Home Chapel.

Ronald Pluard, Sr., of North Platte, passed away at the Ogallala Hospital on September 12, 2023, at age 74.

 </figure>Ronald Pluard, Sr., of North Platte, passed away at the Ogallala Hospital on September 12, 2023, at age 74.Ron was born to Fred and Evelyn Pluard on August 21, 1949, in Eureka, CA. &nbsp;He grew up in northern California then enlisted into the U.S. Army following high school. &nbsp;Ron served as a demolition specialist and combat engineer who disarmed bombs in Vietnam. &nbsp;In 1971, he returned to California after his honorable discharge and got married. &nbsp;Ron married Mardella Cooley and became a father of four. &nbsp;He was a great dad who loved taking his kids places and just being with them.Ron worked as a welder, an auto mechanic, and was good with electricity; he was basically a jack-of-all trades. &nbsp;He also enjoyed being a scout leader but his favorite thing was being a dad. &nbsp;Ron's priorities in life were: #1 Family, #2 Believed in God, #3 Fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ron Jr. and Clayton Pluard; his friend, Tracy "Porky" Smithers; and Mardella.Survivors include Ron's children, Robert Pluard of North Platte and Brandy Pluard of California; stepson, Bryan Eichhorn of Ohio; son-in-law, Billy Glassburn (Wendy) of Ogallala; his siblings, Carol Perry (Wayne) of Massachusetts and Fred Pluard (Joyce) and Rosie Henson (Sam) of California; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other family.Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Dyches officiating. &nbsp;Burial with military honors will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. &nbsp;Visitation is the day of the service at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. &nbsp;Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.&nbsp;
