Jeroin Lee Bestol, 77 of Hyannis, NE died Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, NE.
Jerion was born to Lynn Murer and Geraldine (Thurston) Murer on November 12, 1946, in Scottsbluff, NE. She attended school in Hyannis, NE.
On August 30, 1963, she married James W. Bestol in Scottsbluff, NE making their home in Hyannis, NE, and then, they moved and lived in California for a short time, returning to Hyannis, NE in 1970.
Jeroin worked at Hazel’s Shop, Dredla’s Grocery until opening The Ashby Café, until the late 90s when they closed the café.
Jeroin filled her time and found so much joy spending time with her family. She had many hobbies from feeding her squirrels and birds, collecting Elvis memorabilia, she loved a good card game, reading, putting together puzzles of wolves, she loved dolphins and every night she enjoyed a Miller Lite.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Geraldine and Dennis; a sister, Jerrylynn and brother-in-law, Doug Duncan.
Jeroin is survived by her three sons: Bill (LaNita) Bestol of Alliance, NE, Walter Bestol of Kimberly, Wisconsin, and Kevin (Wendy) Bestol of Hyannis, NE; Seven Grandchildren: Ryan (Kassie) Bestol, Gary (Jessie Boodleman) Bestol, Brittany (Ben) Clausen, Rodney (Melissa) Nelson, Dani Roland, Alexis Bestol, Jesika Bestol; five Great-Grandchildren: Omar Khatib, Alina Khatib, Lily Roland, Kaebri Laymen and Hadley Boodleman; along with several nephews and nieces.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the Hyannis Cemetery in Hyannis, NE. Pastor Jonathan Oetting of Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church will be officiating.
In Lieu of Flowers, a memorial has been established for Festival Hope, Scottsbluff, NE, or East Point Horspice, in Alliance, NE.
