Joy Chilcott is now safe in the arms of Jesus, her Savior. She passed away at her home in North Platte, NE, with family by her side on December 13, 2023, at the age of 93.
Joy was born July 30, 1930, in Morrisville, MO, to Glenn and Della "Mabel" Brown, one of five children. She grew up in several locations in Missouri and Nebraska and graduated from McCook High School in McCook, NE.
On August 5, 1951, Joy was united in marriage to Robert "Dennis" Chilcott at Indianola, NE. They raised six children and were together for 53 years.
Joy enjoyed caring for her family, serving others, bird watching, and working. She was fond of saying that working kept her young. After waitressing for nearly 50 years, she spent the last 15 years of her life working at Wal-Mart, finally retiring at age 92. Joy's positive, friendly attitude, and ready smile will be missed by many.
