On November 11, 2023, at the age of 71, Weston "Wes" Andre-Henn peacefully passed away at his home in North Platte, NE.

Wes was born July 17, 1952, to John and Ruth Henn in Bethlehem, PA, where he grew up. &nbsp;He graduated from Liberty High School then received his B.A. from Mansfield State College in Pennsylvania and later, his Master's Degree from Kearney State Teaching College. &nbsp;

Wes had a long career in teaching and being a school counselor for North Platte Public Schools. He was also past president of the N.P. Teachers Association.

In 1992, Wes married Krysten Andre in North Platte where they made their home together. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Wes was kind and giving. &nbsp;He was a longtime blood donor and loved reading and walking barefoot on the beach. &nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jackie; and brother-in-law, Dale Koch.

Wes is survived by his wife, Krysten Andre-Henn, and parents-in-law, Bernard and Sharen Andre, and sister-in-law, Michelle Andre, all of North Platte; brothers-in-law, Michael (Kathy) Andre, of Beaverton, OR, Terry (Shelly) Andre of Lincoln and David (Brenda) Andre of Madison Lake, MN; his sister, Beverly Koch of Bethlehem, PA; and other family.

Wes Andre-Henn (1952-2023)

Henrietta Mae Blue, 97, departed from this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Henrietta Mae Blue was born October 7, 1926, in Sutherland, Nebraska, the daughter of Ira and Florence (VanMeter) Huffman.

Henrietta attended rural school District 8 in Arthur County through the eighth grade. She attended Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis for her first two years of high school and then attended North Platte High School, where she graduated in 1944. She was employed with several businesses, including Ely-Hoppe Lumber Co. in North Platte from 1949-1952. In 1952, Henrietta was chosen as Miss Buffalo Bill Rodeo Queen at North Platte.

On October 19, 1952, Henrietta was united in marriage to Roy B. O’Mara. The couple resided on the Spade Ranch near Ellsworth, Nebraska, where they were employed by Lawrence Bixby. In February 1953, they moved to the Swan Lake Ranch in Arthur County. A few months later, they moved to the east part of Swan Lake Ranch and resided on the Parsons, located in McPherson County. They were there until December 1957, when they returned to Swan Lake. Four children were born to Roy and Henrietta: Connie, William, Patrick, and Randy.

After Roy passed away in July of 1978, Henrietta continued to manage the ranch until 1988 when she then moved to Ogallala, Nebraska. After moving away from the ranch life, she was employed as a housekeeper for Lowel “Buck” Barrett and then later on as a cook for Haythorn Land &amp; Cattle Company at Ackley Valley from 1989 to 1991.

On June 6, 1992, Henrietta was united in marriage to Kenneth Blue and was married for 24 years. In January 2017, Henrietta moved to Alliance to be closer to her family. She continued to live by herself in an apartment until July 2023, when she moved to Highland Park Care Center.

Ranch life was Henrietta’s greatest desire, working both in the home and outdoors. She enjoyed cooking as well as all the duties involved with ranch life. She especially loved her milk cows and chickens. Henrietta loved helping and taking care of people.

Henrietta attended the Methodist Church in North Platte, Arthur Baptist Church, Ogallala St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Alliance Methodist Church, and Lakeside Church. Henrietta was a member of the Helping Hand Club and Does Drove #252.

Henrietta loved following her grandchildren, Megan Messersmith and Rory de Ganahl to their school activities and later following her great-grandchildren in their school and 4-H activities.

Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, brother Marvin Huffman and wife Loree, sister Emma Melvin and husband DeWayne, son William (Dr. Bill), nephew Wayne Melvin, niece Carol Moran and nephew Jim Huffman.

She is survived by her daughter Connie (Chris) de Ganahl of Lakeside Nebraska, son Pat (Pam) O’Mara of Glendale, Arizona, and son Randy O’Mara of Mitchell, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Megan (Tyler) Messersmith of Hayes Center, Nebraska, and Rory (Kelsey) de Ganahl of Lakeside, Nebraska. Great grandchildren: Ava, June, Paige and Brooke Messersmith, Margot and Roger de Ganahl, and all her special nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 20th, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at The Arthur Baptist Church in Arthur, Nebraska. Pastor Greg Reed of Lakeside Methodist Church of Lakeside, Nebraska, and Rev. Blake Wilkes of Arthur Baptist Church of Arthur, Nebraska will be officiating.

Inurnment will take place on Monday, November 20th, 2023 in the Arthur Cemetery in Arthur, Nebraska.

Henrietta Mae Blue (1926-2023)

Thomas "Tom" Bailey of North Platte passed away November 8, 2023, at Great Plains Health at the age of 63.

Tom was born December 14, 1959, to Cecil and Kathleen Bailey at North Platte, where he grew up. &nbsp;After graduating from NPHS in 1978, Tom moved to Philadelphia for a while then returned to North Platte. &nbsp;He worked at Cash-Wa Distributing then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad and retired as an Engineer.

On June 20, 1989, Tom married Yvonne Kay Ahrens in North Platte where they resided and raised a family. &nbsp;Tom enjoyed fishing and following his kids in their various activities. &nbsp;He is gone too soon and will be forever loved and missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Cecil, and brothers, Mike and Greg Bailey.

Tom is survived by his wife, Yvonne, children, Drew and Kyla Bailey, and brothers, Pat Bailey (Wende) and Kelley Bailey (Janean Dorram), all of North Platte; his sisters, Brenda Deertz (Neil) of North Platte, Lisa Johns (Mark) of Chicago and Sharyl Poletti (Dave) of Philadelphia; as well as other family.

Tom Bailey (1959-2023)

Lareen M. Jacobson, 93, of North Platte, NE passed away on November 8th at the Mount Carmel – Keens Memorial Home in Kearney, NE.

Lareen was born to Henry L. and Mary (Moore) Wiest on September 4, 1930, in Hazard, NE.&nbsp;

Lareen graduated from Kearney High School in 1947 and worked for several years as a secretary with Consumers Public Power. She married Wes Jacobson on July 25, 1953, in Kearney, NE at St. James Catholic Church and together they were blessed with and raised four sons: Jon, Tom, Dan, and Doug. Lareen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker for most of her life. She and Wes started their married life together in Kearney but then lived in North Platte for approximately five years until Wes was transferred to McCook in the early 1960’s. They also lived in Ogallala for six years before moving back to North Platte in 1972. Lareen was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Spirit Catholic parish in North Platte and she enjoyed canning hundreds of pints of vegetables from their garden every year. Lareen also enjoyed baking, sewing, painting ceramics, and traveling in their RV, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Lareen’s memory are her four sons: Jon Jacobson of North Platte, Tom (his wife Ann) Jacobson of North Platte, Dan (his wife Stephanie) Jacobson of Overland Park, KS, and Doug (his wife Joan) Jacobson of Kuna, ID; 11 grandchildren: Patrick and his wife, Caitlyn, Rebecca and her husband, Andy Miller, Austin and his wife, Rachel, Brian, Courtney, Ashley, Danielle and her husband Alex Verdoni, Erin and her husband Noah Stolz, Danielle and her husband Blake Seever, Karli and her husband Matt Trudeau, Lindsey and Molly; great-grandchildren: Gracie, Jacob, and Owen Miller (Rebecca), Cecelia, Azelia, and Gianna Jacobson (Austin) and Jesse Seever (Danielle); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wes “Jake”, sister, Delores Peckman and brothers, Milford, Harland, and the Rev. Robert Wiest.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on November 13th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Vidya Sagar Arikotla as celebrant. Burial will follow on a later date at the Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on November 12th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. &nbsp;Rosary prayers will follow at 7:00 PM. &nbsp;Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.&nbsp;

Lareen M. Jacobson (1930-2023)

Broken Bow, NE – Barbara Pomplun age 90 of Broken Bow, NE passed away November 7, 2023, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE

Barbara Jean "Barb" Pomplun, 90, of Broken Bow passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Barb was born June 21, 1933, in Grand Island, NE. to&nbsp;F.&nbsp;E. "Steve" and Naomi A. 0. "Pat" Stephenson. Steve was appointed as manager of Northwestern Bell office in Ogallala, NE and the family moved there when Barb was 2 weeks old. When Barb was 3 years old the family moved to Broken Bow when Steve was appointed manager of the Northwestern Bell office there.

Barb loved horses and at a young age got her horse, Flicka. She also loved dogs and had many in her lifetime.

Barb attended school in Broken Bow and graduated with the Class of 1951. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart David W. "Pete" Pomplun on September 21, 1952, and to this union two children Cindy and Jerry were born.

Barb was a very accomplished pianist. She accompanied the choir while in high school, many local soloists played at the Methodist Church and taught piano lessons in their home for many years.

She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Over the years she was very involved in Cindy and Jerry's activities, teaching Sunday School, leading Scouts, and being at all the events.

Barb's working career included secretarial and sales clerk positions. But her favorite job was with Northwestern Bell where she started after graduation as a telephone operator in Broken Bow with her Dad as her boss. She took a break when Cindy &amp; Jerry were small but went back to work with Northwestern Bell and held several different positions in Broken Bow before transferring to Omaha where she continued to work until she retired.

Barb loved spending time with her family, watching their activities, fishing, boating, gardening ' playing the piano, watching all Nebraska Cornhusker spo1ts and just being outside.

Barb is survived by daughter Cindy (Kent) Taylor of Broken Bow; son Jerry Pomplun of Oconto, NE; six grandchildren Jess (Amy) Taylor, Andy (Sadye) Taylor all of Broken Bow, Jami (Shay) Robinson of Elm Creek, NE; Shelby (Brad) Mayer of Grant NE; Micah (Jayme) Pomplun of Doniphan, NE; and Kirby (Shannon) Pomplun of Broken Bow; twenty great-grandchildren;

sister-in-law Bessie McMurtry of Lyman, NE; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her parents Steve and Pat Stephenson. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, NE with Pastor Phil Sloat officiating. Lunch following the service, followed by a private family burial at the Broken Bow Township Cemetery.

She accompanied the choir while in high school, many local soloists played at the Methodist Church and taught piano lessons in their home for many years.She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Over the years she was very involved in Cindy and Jerry's activities, teaching Sunday School, leading Scouts, and being at all the events.Barb's working career included secretarial and sales clerk positions. But her favorite job was with Northwestern Bell where she started after graduation as a telephone operator in Broken Bow with her Dad as her boss. She took a break when Cindy &amp; Jerry were small but went back to work with Northwestern Bell and held several different positions in Broken Bow before transferring to Omaha where she continued to work until she retired.Barb loved spending time with her family, watching their activities, fishing, boating, gardening ' playing the piano, watching all Nebraska Cornhusker spo1ts and just being outside.Barb is survived by daughter Cindy (Kent) Taylor of Broken Bow; son Jerry Pomplun of Oconto, NE; six grandchildren Jess (Amy) Taylor, Andy (Sadye) Taylor all of Broken Bow, Jami (Shay) Robinson of Elm Creek, NE; Shelby (Brad) Mayer of Grant NE; Micah (Jayme) Pomplun of Doniphan, NE; and Kirby (Shannon) Pomplun of Broken Bow; twenty great-grandchildren;sister-in-law Bessie McMurtry of Lyman, NE; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her parents Steve and Pat Stephenson. Barbara Pomplun (1933-2023)

David Raymond Goebel, Sr., age 79, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2023.

David was born May 20, 1944, at Ogallala, Nebraska, to Paul and Rachelle (Fischer) Goebel. He attended Ogallala High School before entering the U.S. Navy in 1962. David proudly served his country with VAQ138, remaining active in the reserves following his honorable discharge. It was during his time in the Navy that he met his beloved wife, Carol Ann Comstock. The two were married on July 22, 1967, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with two children: David Jr and Shelly.

After settling in Oak Harbor, Washington, due to his Navy career, David and his family made their home in Ogallala in November of 1980. David did work of all kinds in various places, including Wendy's, before working at GasNGo.&nbsp; For 26 years, David was a familiar and friendly face at the convenience store, where his gift of gab and ready smile made him a friend to all.

David was known for his humor, and he delighted in telling Navy stories, sharing jokes, and playing the occasional prank. During his Navy days, he was often affectionately called 'George' after the comedian George Goble.

David had a generous heart that led him to give seemingly unceasingly to those in need. His experience in the Navy exposed him to the great poverty in the world, and he was never the same after that. His dedication to organizations like St. Jude Children's Hospital, Food for the Poor, and Covenant House was a testament to his love for the needy.

David is survived by his wife, Carol, of Ogallala; children, Shelly Goebel (Darrin Kilpatrick) and David Goebel Jr., both of Ogallala; grandchildren, Kirk Lunbery Jr., Sarah Lunbery, and Isaiah Goebel; and great-granddaughter, Zerah Fratis; sister, Sandra Frame of Julesburg; brother, Joseph Goebel of Las Vegas, NV; along with many other relatives and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Jackson Goebel.

&nbsp;Sharon L. Sheffler, 76, Ogallala, NE died Monday, November 6th, 2023 at her home in Ogallala.

Sharon was born October 29th, 1947 in Keokuk, IA to Howard and Alice (Kennady) Harman. Sharon worked for Public Service in Colorado.

Lois&nbsp;Stutterheim of North Platte passed away at the North Platte Care Center on November 5, 2023, at the age of 84.

Lois was born March 30, 1939, at Lexington and raised by her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Vernon Wells. &nbsp;She graduated from Lexington High School, then got married.

On April 4, 1957, Lois married George Deertz, Jr. in Lexington. &nbsp;Later that year they moved to North Platte and were blessed with three children: Neil, Kevin and Laurie. &nbsp;After George and Lois divorced, she married Lyle Stutterheim in 1997.

Lois worked at Joe's Dine and Dance, the North Platte Country Club and The Sands. &nbsp;She loved all animals, especially dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Vernon Wells; her father, Carl Sorenson; and her daughter, Laurie Deertz.

Survivors include her sons, Neil Deertz (Brenda) and Kevin Deertz of North Platte; grandsons, David Deertz (Cassandra Hoang) and Ryan Deertz (Kelsey); and great-granddaughter, Hazel Deertz.

&nbsp; Darlene Mae Jens was born November 9, 1941 in Griswold, Iowa to Clarence Wayne and Lucille Irene (Harris) Way. As a child she grew up in several different cities throughout Nebraska. In 1977 Darlene moved to the Champion area to be near family. Darlene loved puzzle books and completed the Globe Puzzle every day. She loved her daily walks and was an avid card player. Pinochle, pitch, you name the game, she was a willing participant. Never sitting idle, Darlene taught her children and grandchildren a strong work ethic and bestowed a charitable spirit of giving back to the community. Darlene volunteered in a variety of different ways, even picking up trash at the fairgrounds until 2020 until her health would no longer allow. Darlene was an animal lover of all kinds but had an affinity towards cats and dogs. Darlene was President and canteen manager of the Imperial VFW for over 20 years. It is here that in 1989 she met her latest love, Kenn Shafer. A relationship that flourished throughout the years.

Darlene is survived by her longtime partner, Kenn Shafer; her children, Rick Jens, Randy Jens, Roxane (Johnny) Miller, Rory (Candy) Jens and Ryan Jens; her brothers, Willard (Judy) Way and Lee Way; her sister, Sara Myers; sister-in-law Erma Jens; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth Eloise Stout Ochsner, 97, of Grant, passed away November 4, 2023, at Ogallala.

Ruth was born on July 4, 1926, on a farmstead south of Aurora, Nebraska, to Homer and Gertrude (Thornton) Stout. The family moved to rural Perkins County, Nebraska, in 1926 when Ruth was less than a year old. Ruth attended rural grade school in Perkins County and graduated from Perkins County High School in 1942 at age 16. She earned her Normal Teacher's Training certificate and taught rural school in Perkins County for two years. She worked for the Rural Electric Association in Grant as a bookkeeper for four years. She was married to Robert Elmer Ochsner on March 30, 1947, at the Grant Methodist Church. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage until Robert passed in 2008. She was confirmed in the Grant Methodist Church in 1938 and was a member for 85 years. She served as church organist for 50 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Woman's Fellowship and a member of the ABC Home Extension Club of Grant.

Ruth served on the Perkins County High School board for one year. She worked in the Farm Bureau Insurance office in Grant for five years. She was employed by the Ogallala Medical Clinic in insurance for ten years.

Ruth was a dedicated Christian, farm wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved playing the piano and organ and singing in the church choir and various community choirs. She and Bob loved to go dancing. She, her daughter Janie, and granddaughter Analisa, enjoyed playing piano trios together. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, needlework, and doing jigsaw and word puzzles.

During summer evenings, she could be found playing baseball or football with her young family. She made cinnamon rolls nearly every Saturday and a pie for each Sunday dinner. She enjoyed walking and following school sports and, every Saturday afternoon, was loyal to the Husker football team on the radio. She was known for her quiet, patient, friendly, and loving manner. She had reached the age of 97 years.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, son Terry Ochsner, and brothers Lyndle Stout, Homer "Russell" Stout, Donald Stout, and Bill Stout, sisters Margaret Daiss, Doris Frerichs, Dorothy "Jean" Gloy, and Barbara "Bobby" McLean.

Ruth is survived by daughter-in-law Teresa (Terry) Ochsner of Vancouver, WA, son Randy (Cheryl) Ochsner of Hastings, NE, daughter Janie (Clifford) Colglazier of Grant, NE, son Rick (Jackie) Ochsner of Grant NE, and son Rob Ochsner of rural Ogallala, NE; sisters, Betty Miller of Evansville, IN; Beth Witt of Eugene, OR; and brother-in-law, Jack McLean of West Bend, WI. Ruth's 12 grandchildren are Jennifer Ochsner, Adam Ochsner, Andrew Ochsner, Calvin Ochsner, Shawn Maleskar, Kodie Maleskar, Ebony MacDonald, Douglas Colglazier, Timothy Colglazier, Analisa Colglazier, Micheal Ochsner, and Athena Messinger. Ruth Ochsner (1926-2023)

Patricia A. Fisher, age 81, of Indianola, NE passed away on November 5, 2023 in Lincoln, NE.

Patsy was born October 1, 1942 in McCook, NE to parents John Edward and Beulah Belle (Grieninger) Lauer. She was one of three children who grew up in Southwest Nebraska where she attended Red Willow Consolidated School and McCook Community College before completing her education at Kearney State College in Kearney, NE.

On May 31, 1964, Patsy married the love of her life, Raymond E. Fisher in McCook. The couple made their home in rural Red Willow County and were blessed with four children. The family began a lifelong career in agriculture.

Patsy retired from Southwest Public School after a rewarding 39 years of teaching Music and English. Patsy loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and volunteering her time at church and within the community. Whether in the classroom or at church, music played a special role in Patsy’s life. When she wasn’t busy helping on the farm, Patsy could be found singing in and directing her church choir, playing the piano for a friend’s wedding or singing at a funeral. Regardless of the occasion, Patsy loved music.&nbsp; She also enjoyed reading, quilting, square dancing and spending time boating in the summer months.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and son in law, Benjamin Torres.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Raymond “Doc” Fisher of Indianola, NE, children, Eric (Tracey) Fisher, Indianola, NE, Jason (Jodie) Fisher of Ravenna, NE, Lori Fisher of Lincoln, NE and Brenda (Clint) Cain of Kansas City, MO; siblings, Gary (Megan) Lauer of Kiowa, CO and Cheryl Schuett of Grand Island, NE; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.

Fisher, age 81, of Indianola, NE passed away on November 5, 2023 in Lincoln, NE.Patsy was born October 1, 1942 in McCook, NE to parents John Edward and Beulah Belle (Grieninger) Lauer. She was one of three children who grew up in Southwest Nebraska where she attended Red Willow Consolidated School and McCook Community College before completing her education at Kearney State College in Kearney, NE.On May 31, 1964, Patsy married the love of her life, Raymond E. Fisher in McCook. The couple made their home in rural Red Willow County and were blessed with four children. The family began a lifelong career in agriculture.Patsy retired from Southwest Public School after a rewarding 39 years of teaching Music and English. Patsy loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and volunteering her time at church and within the community. Whether in the classroom or at church, music played a special role in Patsy’s life. When she wasn’t busy helping on the farm, Patsy could be found singing in and directing her church choir, playing the piano for a friend’s wedding or singing at a funeral. Regardless of the occasion, Patsy loved music.&nbsp; She also enjoyed reading, quilting, square dancing and spending time boating in the summer months.Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and son in law, Benjamin Torres.Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Raymond “Doc” Fisher of Indianola, NE, children, Eric (Tracey) Fisher, Indianola, NE, Jason (Jodie) Fisher of Ravenna, NE, Lori Fisher of Lincoln, NE and Brenda (Clint) Cain of Kansas City, MO; siblings, Gary (Megan) Lauer of Kiowa, CO and Cheryl Schuett of Grand Island, NE; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.Memorial contributions are suggested in lieu of flowers in Patsy’s name to be designated at a later date.Visitation with family present to greet friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, November 8th at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9th at Peace Lutheran Church, McCook, NE with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating.Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Indianola, NE.

Betty Lucile (Lucas) McKain was born on October 5, 1928, in Arnold, Nebraska to Floyd D. and Ella (Kraisinger) Lucas.&nbsp; Betty grew up in Arnold and graduated from Arnold High School in 1947.&nbsp; Betty then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.&nbsp; Betty returned to her hometown and worked as a telephone operator.&nbsp;

Betty was married to Rex McKain in 1952.&nbsp; The couple made their home in Arnold.&nbsp; Three children were born to this union: Mary, Susan, and Robert.&nbsp;

Betty’s greatest love was her family.&nbsp; When the children were growing up, she helped with their activities and attended the events that they participated in.&nbsp; Betty loved God and all of God’s creations. She was an active member of the Arnold United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed bird watching, riding horses, working in her yard and garden, and being out in nature were several of her favorites. Betty was even known to go fishing with her son.&nbsp; &nbsp;The community of Arnold was very important to Betty.&nbsp; She was active in the Eastern Star and Job’s Daughters.&nbsp; She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, volunteered for the SORC, was an EMT and even planted flowers around town.&nbsp;

Betty is survived by her children; Mary (Frank) Dymond of Hershey, Susan (John) Blair of Flint, TX, and Robert (Tammi) McKain of Sutherland.&nbsp; She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Mark (Haidee) McKain, Justin (Emily) McKain, Randon (Myria) McKain, Greg McKain, Jeff Blair, and Jillian Gonzales, great-grandchildren Addison, Aspen, Oakleigh, Brylee, Kaleb, Nolan, Summer, Carolina, Danny, Kaylee, Valle, and Heavenlee.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson Gavin Blair, and a brother Bob Lucas.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Doris J. Sydow, formerly of Trenton, Nebraska, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 3, 2023. She died of natural causes, yet lives in glory with our Lord. Doris, born March 20, 1938, was the loving mother of three boys: Keith, Steve and Terry Simmons (passed in 1996). Her first husband, Phil Simmons passed away in 2018. Her second husband, David E. Sydow passed away in 2021. She helped David raise his two children, Russell and Jody Sydow. Doris received Christ at the age of 12 years old and had a loving Christian influence on all her children, family and friends.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She went through nursing training at Kearney Vocational School, McCook Community College and finally received her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Dodge City Community College in 1990.

&nbsp; &nbsp; All through her training she worked in the field of nursing at various nursing home facilities, most notably, Bethphage Mission in Axtell, Nebraska and was the head nurse at El Dorado Manor in Trenton, Nebraska where she served for over 30 years.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents, John Ernest and Edith (McCormack) Stalder and all her older brothers and sisters: Darlene Anderson, Maxine Bishop, “Ernie” Donald, and Leo Stalder, and Dorothy Lambert.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She is survived by her sons, Keith and wife, Nancy Simmons, Steve and wife, Peggy Simmons, 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Tom was born on September 12, 1955, in West Palm Beach, Florida to Delbert and Janice (Grosse) Hilkemeier. Less than two years later, their family was completed with his younger brother Al. They lived several places in Tom’s younger life due to Delbert being in the Military. They settled in O’Neill, NE where Tom graduated from High School in 1973.

Tom married the love of his life Donna Murphy on August 18, 1984. They had four children and settled their lives in Broken Bow, NE.

Tom enjoyed working at radio stations in O’Neill, Albion, and Broken Bow. He had a love for sports, horseracing, fishing, and his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife Donna, son Michael (Chantelle) Hilkemeier and children Brady, Lincoln, Nathaniel, Charlotte, and Westley, daughters Abby Hilkemeier and son James, Ashley (Nick) Cool and children Khale, Rayna, and Dexter, and Michaela Hilkemeier and fur baby Paisley, also he is survived by two daughters by heart Cass Huffman, and Jordan Albus, brother Al (Bev) Hilkemeier, special friends Dustin and Christina Kettleborough, and Larry Cotnoir.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and stepdad Gene Cromwell.

Thomas K. Hilkemeier (1955-2023)

Dorothy Jean Ellingrod, 80 of North Platte NE, formerly of Arthur, NE, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 5, 2023, at North Platte Care Center.

Dorothy was born November 5th, 1943, in Torrington, WY, to George and Edna (Lum) Miller. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School and went on to nursing school in Lincoln, NE. Upon graduating from nursing school and earning her degree as an LPN, she met her husband, George Robert Ellingrod.

Dorothy and Robert settled down on the family ranch in Arthur, NE, and began a life together. To this union two daughters were born: Vikki Lea Ellingrod and Mitzi Lynn Ellingrod. Dorothy was a full-time mom and housewife and worked alongside Robert as a Ranch Hand. Dorothy lost her husband Robert in 1996. She remained on the ranch and worked in Arthur at Chuckwagon Meats.

In 1999, she moved to North Platte, NE, and went back to Nursing School at Mid-Plains Community College. She was employed at Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte for 13 years until she retired.

Dorothy enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting Coca-Cola Memorabilia. In 2016, Dorothy moved to the North Platte Care Center until the time of her death.

She is survived by her two daughters, Vikki (Jesse) Davis and Mitzi Goodman. Along with several Nieces and Nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, her brother-in-law John Bud Ellingrod and sister-in-law Dorothy Mae Enfield

Visitation will be Thursday, November 9th, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Draucker Funeral Home Chapel, with the family greeting friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 10th, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Arthur Cemetery in Arthur, NE; Rev. Blake Wilkes will be officiating.

Dennis&nbsp;Hartman was born February 15, 1944, to Henry and Gertrude Hartman in North Platte. &nbsp;He passed away at Centennial Park Retirement Home on November 5, 2023, at age 79.

Dennis grew up on the family farm south of Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School in 1962. &nbsp;He was skilled in many areas and worked in construction doing plumbing, carpentry work and iron work. &nbsp;His jobs took him to large projects that including doing siding work at the Gerald Gentleman Station at Sutherland for Davis Enterprises Construction; plumbing at the Coors Distributing Company in Golden, CO; iron work at Questa, NM; working on a new hospital at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs; and he installed radios in missiles for Martin-Merritta in Denver. &nbsp;Dennis loved working on various projects and he worked until 1983 when he became disabled. &nbsp;

Dennis was a member and inner church reserve of the First Baptist Church in North Platte.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; step sisters, Maxine Bellamy and Twylla Berg; and his son, Tim Hartman.

Survivors include his sons, Donnie Hartman of North Platte and Robert Hartman of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Melissa Hartman of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Danny and Bobbie Jo; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Angelina; his brother, Ted Hartman (Barbara) of Loma, CO; step brothers, Bill Songster (Marlene) and Dolan Berg of North Platte; as well as other family.

Mary, the daughter of Robert and Lois Nairn, was born in Alhambra, CA, on July 26, 1943. &nbsp;She grew up and attended school in Garden City, KS, then did nurses training. &nbsp;In 1961, Mary moved to take a job at the Ogallala Community Hospital. &nbsp;She later worked at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, KS, as a dietary hospital cook for 22 years.

On April 21, 1963, Mary was united in marriage to Gary Finn at the First Baptist Church in Garden City, KS. &nbsp;

Mary enjoyed crocheting, sewing and solving puzzles and she attended Harvest Christian Fellowship in North Platte.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob, Jr. and her twin, Roger; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Sam Rapue and Arlene and Gordon Lackey; and sister-in-law, Morena Nairn.

Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gary; son, Todd Finn (Patsy) of Tonkawa, OK; daughters, Renee Foster (Fred) of Sutherland and Melissa "Missy" Foster (Tom) of North Platte; grandchildren, Jeanette Badgley (Bryan), Josh Foster (Sarah), T.J. Foster (Kaitlin) and Abby Foster (Geng); great-grandkids, Shanae, Blake, Josiah, Koltyn, Lakin, Kinsley and baby William who is to be born; her sister, Holly Tolliver (Wayne) of Flippin, AR; sister-in-law, Luetta Nairn of Lafayette, CO; her special friends, Pat in Ogallala and Marilyn in Elkhart, KS; her special dog, Cricket; as well as other family and friends.

Mary Finn (1943-2023)

Harold “Buck” Green, 77, of Lenora, Kansas passed away October 24, 2023 at the Norton County Hospital. He was born July 10, 1946 in North Platte, Nebraska to George and Lola (Lang) Green.

Buck grew up on the ranch north of Hershey on the Birdwood Creek. He was a graduate of Curtis High School. He went on to attend Kearney State College on a wrestling scholarship. Buck loved to hunt, fish, rodeo, play poker, and tell stories. Buck was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. He was especially proud of winning the bull riding at the Sutherland Rodeo. In 1990, he and his family moved to Glenwood, New Mexico where he continued to ranch. He married Maria Guadalupe Gutierrez Arballo “Lupita” in New Mexico on December 23, 2008. They spent a lot of time in Mexico at Lupita’s farm, and finally came back to Lenora to live the last few years.

Buck is survived by his wife, Lupita, of the home; daughter, Stephanie (Doug) David of Lenora, KS; grandson Cody Roberts of Hill City, KS; three great grandchildren and many other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lola Green; brother, Ray Green, and sister, Kay Ferguson.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 am Saturday, November 4, 2023&nbsp;at the Birdwood Creek on the old Green Ranch Bridge. There was a celebration of his life following at 12:30 pm at the Longhorn Bar in Sutherland, NE. On October 31, 2023, Evelyn Pauline Brecken “Granny” at the age of 101-1/2 went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pauline was born on July 7, 1922, to William Clarence “Prunes” and Lena Leota (Kearns) Pearman in Seneca, Nebraska.

She was married to Bob Evans on December 30, 1939, unto this union three children were born: William Joseph (Jody), Leota Ann, and Betty Pauline.

While raising her children Pauline worked on several ranches, cleaned houses, and was a cook at Bud’s Café.

After Roy’s death she continued to own and operate the motel.She was a 4-H Leader, Extension Club President, belonged to Commercial Club, and was on the Town Board. She was a member of The Assembly of God Church in Mullen, NE.Pauline was married to Wayne Brecken on March 7, 1971. He was in construction and later retired to help her operate the Sandhills Motel. Wayne always told her he was probably the first man to become a husband, father, and grandfather all in one day.She was Queen of the Hooker County Fair. Also, she was the first woman to be voted “Fan of the Year”. Trying not to miss any more games than she absolutely had to. She had a special relationship with all of the kids and enjoyed each and every one of them.It was at this time that she became known as “Granny” to the entire town, and some people still don’t know her real name. She loved to visit with anyone and didn’t know a stranger. Her heart was bigger than herself and she would help anyone if she could. Baking, sewing, and making jelly were favorite things of hers. She was known for her sewing of quilts, potholders, etc. At age 93, she made a quilt and raffled it off and gave the proceeds to a wounded warrior.She helped at the Rustic Café, where Rhonda made her Sou Chef. Visiting with people from all over the country was a favorite thing of hers. At age 94 she was still ready to go tanking or ride a motorcycle. Her motto was: "If the wheels are turning, I’m going", and she did.The thing that “Granny” enjoyed most was the gathering of her family. Of course, she was the life of the party. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Loved to beat you in a game of cards and hot seat. She was a force to be reckoned with and will be greatly missed.Survivors are her children Jody (Bea) Evans, Leota (Pat) Donohoe, and Betty (Willard) Boyer. Grandchildren: Will (Kelly) Donohoe, John (Teresa) Donohoe, Gary Evans, Dean (Christi) Boyer, and Starla (Tony) Spurlin. Great grandchildren: Eric (Shauna), Mellissa, Kate (Clint), Emily (Kelsey), Savannah, Tanner (Bailee), and Chance Donohoe, Trey (Courtney), Teran (Mackenzie), Tyan (Jaysa), and Teya Boyer, Jarod (Lexie) and Hunter (Morgan) Spurlin. Great great grandchildren: Hayley and Jenna Donohoe, Carter Donohoe, Collin Donohoe, William Spurlin, Winnie Contrares, Carter and Cole Boyer and Henry Svoboda, and numerous other family members and friends.Preceding her in death were parents, husbands, Roy Bradley and Wayne Brecken, two stepsons Darwin and Orville Bradley, siblings Eunice Wolfenden, Joan Garner, Woodrow “Bink” Pearman, Alex “Eck” Pearman, Kathleen “Kat” Boyer, Elmer “Neak” Pearman and a beloved grandson Paul Evans.
