Hugh Glenn Moller passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, in Ogallala, where he had been a resident of Indian Hills Manor since early December 2023.

Hugh was born on March 28, 1936, in Grant to Harry and Gladys (Frahm) Moller. Hugh, his sisters, and his younger brother grew up on the family farm directly north of Grant. He graduated from Perkins County High School in 1953 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying geology. He played cornet in high school and university bands. Following school, he returned to Grant to assist his parents on the farm. He also worked for "Doc" Harris, doing well work for Albert Mahnken, the ASCS office, and the Grant Coop.

Hugh was devoted to his parents and enabled them to have a long life on the farm. He and his siblings were separated by distance, but he always maintained a close relationship with his older sister, Shirley Ann Munster Peterson of Ogallala. He was always meticulous in his work. He was a long-time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grant, often going down late at night or early in the morning to assure proper air conditioning or heating for the congregation. He served the church as head usher for many years. He enjoyed being a member of the church choir and the Synod Choir. Hugh enjoyed square dancing, gardening, raising quality red cattle, and growing wheat.

Following the death of his parents (1989 and 1996), he continued to live on the farm until recently, when he became ill.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Ann Munster Peterson of Ogallala (2021) and Loretta Jean Hulitzky of Medfield, MA (2020).

Survivors include his younger brother, Lynn Elliott Moller, of Lincoln, nephews Kent Munster of Lincoln, Derek Hulitzky of Warren, RI, Corey Munster of Fremont, Grant Moller of Fairfax, VA, and nieces Lisa Hulitzky of Bronxville, NY, Sheila Munster Wistrom of Omaha, Tara Moller King of Bloomington, MN, and special neighbors Steve and Chris Loeffler and boys of Grant.

A memorial has been established in Hugh's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery in Grant at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Heckmann officiating.

Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
