The PAC is hosting a concert this Saturday as welcome Job, Peter and Chuck for a one night performance. The trio, which used to sing together is getting back together for the evening with their concert at the PAC called "You Can't Make Old Friends". 

The show is set to begin at 7:00pm and very few tickets remain, to purchase a ticket if still available, <a href="https://www.prairieartscenter.org/booking-calendar/you-can-t-make-old-friends-concert?referral=service_list_widget">click here</a>. The Lincoln County CASA Kevin Kennedy Annual 5K and Kids Run (Fun Mile) on April 13th at Iron Horse Park, just south of the I-80 Entrance!

 The 5K kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by the Kids Run starting at 5:45 PM. The event was a huge success in the kid's egg hunt but also the adult hunt, as over $3,000 was raised. Mid-Plains United Way is also getting ready for Giving Day on May 8th. The organization also recently introduced a monthly donation online from the organization's website if you would like to give a recurring donation.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - NPIce concluded their second year with great successful. NPIce offered public skating, hockey lessons, drop-in hockey, learn to skate and residents and surrounding communities took notice and made the trip out to the rink in North Platte.&nbsp;&nbsp;

NPIce is already looking ahead for the 2023-2024 winter season and has sponsorships and project goals ready to go. A goal project goal that NPIce has been thinking about is adding a cover over the rink. During Feb. we seen a few days where the warm weather caused the ice to melt. NPIce will be a part of Giving Day on May 8th, planning on doing more dine out days and also having a glo ball golf tournament in North Platte.&nbsp;

The event is free to participate and it is asked that kids bring their own baskets to the hunt. There will be four different age groups of kids that will go during the hunt. After the hunt is over, prizes will be raffled. It is asked that you show up around 1:30pm to get registered for the event.&nbsp;

(Press Release) NORTH PLATTE - It's that time of year again where warm-hearted people take a very cold dip for a good cause.&nbsp; For the first time, a polar plunge will be held in North Platte.

The Polar Plunge is an annual event that challenges participants to show support for the Special Olympics Nebraska by plunging into a lake - in the dead of winter. Plungers are encouraged to form teams, dress in costume and share their experience by using the hashtag #BeBoldGetCold.&nbsp;

Those brave enough to run into the icy waters raise money by collecting pledges from family and friends. Prizes are awarded for creativity and fundraising. Proceeds from the Polar Plunge support over 6,000 Nebraskans with intellectual and development disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Nebraska.

Join us! Don't miss the opportunity to capture the excitement and spirit of this remarkable event. Plungers and law enforcement volunteers who are actively involved with the Special Olympics Nebraska movement will be present and eager to share their inspiring sorties and enthusiasm for the cause.

"We are so excited to add another location to our Polar Plunges this year. We look forward to seeing the North Platte community come together to support the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Nebraska," said Carolyn Chamberlin, President and CEO of Special Olympics Nebraska.

There will be a post-plunge party immediately following the event at Axes and Aces in North Platte.

They'll be selling 350 bulls to buyers in person at their ranch and online, in years past to over 30 different States, even Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has even RSVP'd for the event. Trey Wasserburger says, "it's cool to have a Governor that is Ag based in the beef state."

Meet The Rancher: It Takes A Family, The Wasserburgers

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with Angela Hipp and Ted Pucylowski and their upcoming event with Community Connections next Tuesday at Venue 304 in North Platte. The event co-hosted with TeamMates Mentoring Program is free and open to the community. Community Connections mentoring program offers year-round mentoring while TeamMates Program is academic school year. Mentors spend 4-8 hours a week with their mentees while doing activities.
