Byron Kemplin, 87, of Oshkosh passed away early Friday morning, May 10, 2024 at the Regional West Garden County Hospital.
Cremation has taken place, and no formal services are being planned at the time.

Byron Neal was born January 17, 1937 in Alliance, Nebraska to Charles and Myrtle (Taylor) Kemplin. He was raised in Garden County attending Oshkosh Grade School and graduated from Garden County High in 1955.
After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served his time in Colorado and Georgia. Due to his father’s failing health he returned to help on the family farm which he continued with for the remainder of his life. Alongside farming, for many years he owned “Byron Kemplin Painting” and painted many buildings around town.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Marie Stevens from Broadwater on August 16, 1964. To this union two daughters were born: Vonda Sias in 1965 and Tina Hunt in 1968. They raised their family in Oshkosh.
Byron enjoyed stock car races, reading spiritual books, animals. He had a strong faith and love for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Oshkosh, daughters Vonda Sias of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Tina Hunt (Charlie Eitzen) of Oshkosh; 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Travis, Amanda, and Breanna; 6 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Isabella, Dominic, Brayden, Everleigh, Maddox; many extended family members and friends.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Bill Robinson, and other family members throughout the years.
