Shaydyn Rasby made Nebraska track and field history on Saturday, May 23rd, at Burke High School in Omaha, winning the Class C state championship in the 300-meter hurdles while shattering a record that had stood for over a decade.

Rasby crossed the finish line in 42.83 seconds, erasing the previous Class C state record of 43.29 previously set in 2015, and cementing her place among the elite in Nebraska prep athletics.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is the context surrounding it. With Ogallala moving from Class B to Class C this season, Rasby entered the year already holding the Class B state record in the event. She now owns the record in both classifications, a distinction no other athlete in the state can claim.

"OG Nation is beyond proud of the grit, determination, and competitive fire Shaydyn continues to show on the biggest stage," the Ogallala Public Schools' Facebook said following the win.

For Rasby and the Ogallala community, the moment represents the culmination of years of hard work and determination. Running in the school's black and orange, she delivered one of the standout performances of the entire state meet.
