LEON ERROL ROWLEY, 75, of Grant, Nebraska, passed away March 12, 2024, at home.

Leon was born May 5, 1948, in Grant, Nebraska, to Milo and Margie (Clark) Rowley. He graduated from Grant High School with the class of 1966. During school, Leon established himself as a Golden Gloves boxer.

Leon joined the US Navy out of high school, in keeping with the long line of Clark family members who also served in the Navy. He retired honorably after spending 22 years on active duty. He served on numerous ships traveling all over the world, with over four years of sea service, including time during the Vietnam War.

Leon was an avid square dancer and lover of karaoke (his go-to song was "Family Tradition" by Hank Williams Jr.). He had a penchant for carrot cake and was rarely seen without his coffee cup in hand. He had a big heart and donated to numerous charitable causes in and around Grant.

Leon was a long-time member of the VFW and enjoyed volunteering and attending the Veteran's Day programs in Perkins County in full dress uniform. He also loved gardening and had quite the green thumb! Leon's boisterous voice and laughter will be missed.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leslie, and sister, LaRetta Brewer.

Survivors include siblings Linda Skeels of Venango, Lisa (Jeff) White of CA, Leslie (Christina) Rowley of Denver, Colorado, and Larry (Susan) Rowley of Arkansas; brother-in-law Lonny Brewer of Kansas, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
