   Doris J. Sydow, formerly of Trenton, Nebraska, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 3, 2023. She died of natural causes, yet lives in glory with our Lord. Doris, born March 20, 1938, was the loving mother of three boys: Keith, Steve and Terry Simmons (passed in 1996). Her first husband, Phil Simmons passed away in 2018. Her second husband, David E. Sydow passed away in 2021. She helped David raise his two children, Russell and Jody Sydow. Doris received Christ at the age of 12 years old and had a loving Christian influence on all her children, family and friends.

    She went through nursing training at Kearney Vocational School, McCook Community College and finally received her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Dodge City Community College in 1990.

    All through her training she worked in the field of nursing at various nursing home facilities, most notably, Bethphage Mission in Axtell, Nebraska and was the head nurse at El Dorado Manor in Trenton, Nebraska where she served for over 30 years.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, John Ernest and Edith (McCormack) Stalder and all her older brothers and sisters: Darlene Anderson, Maxine Bishop, “Ernie” Donald, and Leo Stalder, and Dorothy Lambert.

    She is survived by her sons, Keith and wife, Nancy Simmons, Steve and wife, Peggy Simmons, 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral Services will be held at Hermann-Jones Funeral Chapel, 607 Norris Avenue, in McCook, Nebraska at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023. All friends and family are welcome. Reception to follow at the same location.
