Work will begin on N-12, Minnechaduza Creek Bridge

(Ainsworth, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin Sept. 3 on the Minnechaduza Creek Bridge replacement project, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

General Excavating, LLC of Lincoln in the prime contractor for the project. Work includes removal and replacement of the bridge over the Minnechaduza Creek on N-12 at reference point 3.98, 2.9 miles east of the Valentine city limits or 0.15 miles west of the S-16A junction (Fort Niobrara Wildlife Refuge access road). Anticipated completionis May 2025.

N-12 will be closed to traffic at the Minnechaduza Creek Bridge for a majority of the construction. During the closure traffic will be detoured utilizing US-83, north of Valentine then utilize unpaved county roads Whitetail Road, Nolett Road, and 906th Road before returning to N-12 near mile marker 7.
