Eldon Robert Elson, age 63, passed on March 25, 2026, at North Platte, Nebraska.

He was born in McCook, Nebraska on October 2, 1962, to Tom and Merna Elson of Curtis. He came home to a sister Beth, and brothers Dale and Dick. Eldon died March 25, 2026, at Great Plains Hospital after a short battle of medical complications.

Eldon spent his life living in Curtis on the family farm. Eldon loved politics, hunting, Husker football, baseball, basketball, golf, farming, truck driving, horses, cattle, wood working, John Wayne and game shows. He loved playing pitch at community events and Martha Jo’s. It was always a great day when he beat his brother Dick at quarter point pitch. Every Husker football season he would be watching and cheering on the team. Every year he participated in the local Pheasants Forever fund raiser. He was a member of the Curtis Volunteer Fire Department.

Eldon was confirmed in the Methodist church. Eldon attended District 75 country school, graduated from Medicine Valley, obtained an associate degree at the University of Nebraska Lincoln in Production Agriculture. He was awarded for his many achievements in wood working with the Golden Hammer, top awards at North Platte, Sidney, Mid Plains, Industrial Arts Shows for his walnut buffet. For football he received All Conference Lineman.

Eldon was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Sue Elson; his daughters Lindsey, Cassidy (husband Henry, son Jaxton, daughter Harleigh), Cindy Krupicka (husband Jason, sons Nathaniel and Marshall) Becky Rice (husband James, sons Dylan, Braydn, Harley); sons Robbie (wife Adessa, daughter Ashtyn, son Korbyn) Bert Davis (wife Denisa), Daniel Davis (wife Shelle, daughter Jyllian), Matthew Davis (daughters Kialy, Rainy, sons Damian, Sebastian); brother-in-law Robert Miller; sister-in-law Lorinda Elson; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Merna, sister Beth, brothers Dale and Dick, and nephew Travis Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Curtis Methodist Church with Kort Kemp officiating.

Memorials may be sent to the Curtis Volunteer Fire Department, Frontier County Ambulance, or to the family for later designation.
