Three Sidney businesses fail alcohol compliance checks officials say

MARCH 26, 2024 (SIDNEY, NEB.)  — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have conducted alcohol compliance checks in Cheyenne, Morrill, and Box Butte counties.

During the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday, March 15, investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Cheyenne County.

In total, 23 businesses were checked. Three of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a compliance rate of 87%. The businesses that failed the compliance check were:

Pizza Hut – Sidney

Silver Dollar Bar & Grill - Sidney

Dude’s Steakhouse & Brandin’ Iron - Sidney

During the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday, March 23, investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Morrill and Box Butte counties. In total, 14 businesses were checked. All 14 businesses refused to sell alcohol to a minor for a compliance rate of 100%.

Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to minors are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor. These projects were supported by grant #1848 from the Panhandle Prevention District/Panhandle Public Health District.
