Beth died peacefully at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte, NE, April 3rd, with family by her side. She was born on April 6, 1977 in Skagway, Alaska to Del and Kay Almond. She completed their family joining sisters Kelly and Jennifer.
The family soon moved to Alliance, Nebraska and into a neighborhood filled with friends and family including her cousins, Travis, Trevor, and Todd.
She attended St. Agnes Academy, graduating from Alliance High School with the Class of 1995. She furthered her education by attending LPN school receiving her diploma alongside her childhood friend Hilary (Bauer) Gomez.
Beth was united in marriage to Chris Cook in July of 2001, and to this union Hunter Thomas and Kennedi Kay were added making their family complete.
Her desire to continue in her nursing profession led her to receive her R.N. and BSN. She worked in the North Platte area most of her career. She always had a love for the elderly and disabled. This led her to a new career role at the North Platte Opportunity Center while still carrying on her duties in the nursing field at Lighthouse LLC.
Her greatest joy without a doubt were her children, Hunter and Kennedi. She was their biggest cheerleader and advocate in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delton.
Beth leaves her children, Hunter Thomas, Fremont, NE, Kennedi Kay, North Platte, NE; mother, Kay Almond, Alliance, NE; sisters, Kelly (Sean)Lowry, Omaha, NE, Jennifer (Ryan)Gasseling, Hemingford,NE; nephew, Karston Lowry, Omaha, NE; nieces, Natalie(Jon)Gasseling, Big Springs, NE, Lauren(Brandon) Gasseling, Bridgeport, NE; numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Also left behind to mourn her passing is Copper, her faithful dog.
Memorials may be given in Beth’s name to the North Platte Opportunity Center, 501 N. Bryan Ave. North Platte NE 69101 or an organization of the donor’s choice in Beth’s behalf.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, April 9th at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte NE. Inurnment will be at a later date in Alliance, Nebraska at Calvary Cemetery. The memorial book will be available to sign on Monday, April 8th from 9 am to 5 pm at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
