Work Will Begin on US-26 and N-61 in Ogallala

(North Platte, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin May 20 on US-26, from reference post 149+95 to reference post 150+73 and on N-61 from reference post 85+21 to reference post 86+69, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

JJK Construction, LLC of Ceresco is the contractor for this project. Work includes concrete pavement repair, bridge repair & joint sealing. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions and a pilot car and flaggers. During the repair of the west railroad viaduct, traffic will be placed on the east railroad viaduct in a two-lane, two-traffic configuration. Width restrictions of 10-feet and 12-feet will be in effect.

Anticipated completion is May 2025.

The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
