Western, Neb. - A Red Warning is in effect for parts of the listening coverage, most of the Panhandle and western sandhills according to the National Weather Service, North Platte Office (NWS).

For the area effected by the Red Warning, strong wind gusts of 30 - 35 mph are expected and any fire started could quickly spread. The effect will remain through this evening.
