Carol Ann Purcell, 66, of Wallace, NE, passed away at home on March 6, 2024.

Carol was born August 16, 1957, in Stockton, California, to Kenneth and Mary Ann (Strohm) Olson. She graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, California.

On August 16, 1982, Carol married Robert "Bob" Purcell in a ceremony held in her parents' backyard. The two had met in Penn Valley, CA, near where Bob's family had resided on an Air Force base. The couple made their home in Anchorage for a few years before moving back to Chico, where Carol worked as a hairdresser and in medical billing until her health began to decline. They resided in California for most of their married lives before moving to Wallace in February of 2020.

Carol was a woman of great faith and love. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats, birds, and dogs, but she also made some room for chickens. She was a lover of music, especially the Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Carol loved the Lord and enjoyed holding a Bible study group for wives. Her relationship with Bob was a beautiful love story that was a precious part of their lives. Together, their faith was nourished at the Wallace Community Church, which became an extension of their family.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Don Olson, and an aunt, Martha Strohm.

Survivors include her husband, Bob, of Wallace; nieces and nephews Joy Williams of Wallace, Linda Sue Williams of Nampa, ID, Ken Strohm of Susanville, CA, and Sheri (Dave) Atkinson of Roseville, CA; grandchildren Hailey, Chase, and Kyle; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Wallace Community Church in memory of Carol. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Memorial services will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 3 PM CT at the Wallace Community Church, with Pastor Matt Peyton officiating. Inurnment will be in the MorningView Cemetery at Wallace.
