Anita Louise Brown was born on August 20, 1936 in Dupree, South Dakota to Charles Leach and Ula Marjorie Brummet, and passed away on July 28, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 86 years old.
Anita grew up in Dupree, South Dakota and graduated from Dupree in 1954. She had 3 siblings: Valera, Earl, and Chuck. She moved to Arnold, Nebraska and met Loren Brown in 1958, and married him in August of 1959. Together they had 5 children and raised them in Stapleton, North Platte, Sutherland, and Tryon in Nebraska. They settled in Arnold, Nebraska in 1990. She worked in the health care field as a CNA and later in childcare.
Anita loved camping, fishing, and boating and she cherished her grandchildren and spending summer with them.
Anita was loved by many and was kind and caring to everyone she met. She loved to cook, and Christmas was very important to her as she always wanted her family together. She took great joy in hosting family reunions in Arnold, NE. She loved to garden and had a beautiful yard and flowers.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marjorie Leach; in-laws, Alma and Gladys Brown; son, Mark Brown; grandson, Tucker Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Valera and Clyde Pickett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Charlotte Nansel; and brother-in-law, Jim Brown.
Anita is survived by her beloved husband, Loren, of North Platte, Nebraska; son Rod (Twila) of Paxton, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Tina Warner of Carthage, Texas; son, Todd (Kathy) Brown of North Platte, Nebraska; son Derwyn (Carolyn) Brown of North Platte, Nebraska; daughter, Heidi (Bart) Sinner of Springtown, Texas; brothers Earl (Pat) Leach of Carter Lake, Iowa and Chuck (Dianna) Leach of Grand Island, Nebraska; as well as seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Memorial Services will be on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. CST at the First Baptist Church in Arnold, NE with Pastor Irv Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in the Arnold Cemetery.
