Sidney, Neb. - As the end of June is quickly approaching, firework season will be upon us. The Sidney Police Department wants to remind residents rules and times to discharge fireworks between June 25th and July 5th.
The discharging of permissible fireworks during the following periods:
1. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on June 25 and ending July 5 at 1:00 a.m. of each year. Permissible fireworks can be discharged only during said period of time between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on June 25 through and including July 3, and between the hours of 8:00 a.m. on July 4 to 1:00 a.m. on July 5.
2. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on December 31 and ending January 1 at 1:00 a.m., said eight-hour period allowed each year.
3. Other times as may be designated upon obtaining a special permit to do so, which permit may be issued if approved by the City Manager upon application.
