Linda B. Straka (Fuehrer) passed away on September 14, 2024, at Hampden Hills Post Acute Care Center in Aurora, CO. Linda was born on October 8, 1952, in Imperial, NE. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy Fuehrer. Linda attended District #22, in rural Chase County and graduated from Chase County High School in 1970. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Y-Teens, the “Longhorn” paper staff, and Junior class play. Linda married Ted Colton in Imperial in 1978. She married Timothy Straka in Aurora, CO in 1995. They later divorced.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE, she taught high school in Imperial, NE and Denver, CO. She later transitioned to a career with Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, NE.
Beyond her professional life, Linda was passionate about sewing and jewelry making, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic nature. Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior later in her life and loved reading her Bible.
Linda is survived by her three siblings: Paula, and her husband, Terry Clifton, of Fort Collins, CO; Mark Fuehrer, and his wife, Debra, of Lincoln, NE; and Kurt Fuehrer of Imperial, NE. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service, to honor Linda, will be held at a later date. Linda was in Hospice care the last few months of her life. We suggest any memorial gifts be given to your local Hospice organization.
