  Pauline Brandt, age 90 of Imperial, died February 27, 2024.
Pauline was born April 15, 1933 in rural Chase County. She was the oldest child born to James Calvin and Edna Jaeger Gardner. She grew up on the family farm north west of Imperial. Pauline attended country school District #22 where she was the only one in the class each year. She graduated from Chase County High School in 1950.

Pauline taught in rural schools for four years. She attended summer classes at McCook Community College.

Pauline was married to Gilbert Brandt on June 5, 1954. They spent the first year of marriage in Norfolk, VA while Gilbert finished up his four years in the Navy. Gilbert and Pauline returned to their family farm and she resided there the rest of her life.

Gilbert and Pauline farmed together and did most other activities together. They were able to travel across the United States and Canada in their lifetimes. They both enjoyed time with family and friends.

Gilbert and Pauline belonged to a neighborhood card club that lasted 52 years. All their time together, they loved to dance. Pauline always had house plants in her home. She loved to take pictures and had filled over 75 albums. Pauline kept a diary since she was married.

In addition to her parents, Calvin and Edna Gardner, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Brandt; son-in-law: Dennis Holmes; her sister: Maurine Ransdell and Maurine’s husband, Gale; brothers: Larry Gardner, and Myron Gardner; Brothers-in-law: Dick Reynolds and Duane Goff.
She is survived by her daughter: Deena Holmes; her son: Troy (Judy)Brandt. Grandchildren: Shelbi (Preston) Jueneman; Skye (Royce) Mercer; David Holmes and great grandchildren: Preston Holmes, Quincy, Rhett and Presley Mercer.
Also survived by brothers: Delvin(Loneta) Gardner and Lauren(Pam) Gardner; Sisters: LaVeta Reynolds and LeAnna Goff; Sisters-in-law Carol Gardner and Shirley Gardner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

At her request, her body was donated to the Anatomical Board of the State of Nebraska in Omaha. No funeral or services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, condolences may be sent to the family at 73992 326 Avenue, Imperial, NE 69033.
