John L. Volk, 33, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away at his home surrounded by family and loved ones after fighting a brave battle with cancer.
He was born on August 21, 1990, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington to Charles J. and Beverly J. (Parker) Volk. John attended Cozad Public Schools where he was a proud Haymaker. He loved attending basketball games and softball games, especially when his sister played.
John had a smile that would light up any room and it was easy for anyone to fall in love with him. John loved life, he loved being out at the family farm watching trains, and tractors during planting and harvest. John also loved watching sports, especially his Huskers. John loved his family and got so much joy from spending time with them. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle who is going to be missed so deeply.
John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence “Doc” and Ila Volk, Glen Robert and Hazel Parker; and cousins, Jeffery Houlden and Billy Brittain.
Survivors include his parents, Charles and Beverly of Cozad; his sister, Jenny of Kearney; nephew, Bentley and niece, Maci of Kearney; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Robert Litzenberger, officiating. The service will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Interment will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
