Ralph E. Anderson, 87, of North Platte, passed away April 5, 2024 at Great Plains Health. He was born April 1, 1937 to Harry and Geneva (Larue) Anderson in his paternal grandparent’s home in Gothenburg.
Ralph attended rural schools, mainly in the Hayes Center area and then graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1954. He married Mary Jane Wendeborn on June 18, 1961 in North Platte. He worked at various ranches in Nebraska and Colorado until 1966. Ralph then went to work for State Department of Roads while Interstate 80 was being built. Following the completion of the interstate, he worked for Nebraska Public Power District for seven years. Ralph and Mary Jane moved to Phoenix and later to Congress, Arizona where he was employed by Speedie Corporation from 1981-2003 at which time he retired. The couple moved back to North Platte in October 2013 because of Mary Jane’s health.
Survivors include children, Peggy (Jed) Snell of Apple Valley, CA, Debbie (Chuck) Carter of Silverthorne, CO, Neal (Kelly) Anderson of Clovis, New Mexico; grandchildren, Kara (Alex) Bustrum of Kalamazoo, MI, Logan (Missy) Snell of Castle Rock, CO, Mary Beth Anderson of Clovis, NM, Brysen Anderson of Farmington, NM; great grandchildren, Jude, Bear, and Ranger Snell of Castle Rock, CO, Adalyn Walsh of Clovis, NM; brothers, Lavern (Linda) Anderson of McKinney, TX, Bruce (Linda) Anderson of Westminster, CO; sisters, Joyce (Rick) Sexton of Cedar Ridge, CO, Gail (Ted) Michals of Black Hawk, CO; sister-in-law, Pat Anderson of Lander, WY; sister-in-law, Alice Robinson of North Platte; numerous other family members and many friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Geneva; wife, Mary Jane in 2014; brother, Dean Anderson; sisters-in-law, Earlene Anderson and Charlotte Wendeborn; brother-in-law, Al Robinson.
