North Platte, Ne - The Tornado sirens began in North Platte just after 7pm on Sunday night. Reports began coming in via National Weather Service employees of 80mph winds just 2.5 miles south of North Platte, shortly after a report from the public in the same vicinity of a 97mph gust. Then... the power went out, according to Lincoln County Emergency Manager much of North Platte was without power for at least several minutes.

911 calls locally in North Platte were being diverted to Lexington dispatch because of outages.

Storms continued to move east as the evening went on. Developing Story.
