Rodney Ogden of North Platte passed away at Great Plains Health on January 5, 2024, at the age of 75.
Rodney was born in Bakersfield, CA, to John and Grace Ogden on January 30, 1948, and grew up in California.  He fell in love with cooking and this led to catering and eventually becoming a chef.  Rodney was a chef in prominent hotels including The Biltmore in Santa Barbara.
While in Santa Barbara, Rodney met Lynne Stanton of North Platte and they were married on August 13, 1988, in Las Vegas.  Lynne and Rodney lived in Santa Barbara before moving to Denver then to Lewellen where they owned and operated the Lewellen Café. They later moved to North Platte.
Rodney loved what he did and was fondly known throughout the area as the "Rural Chef".  He especially loved his dog, Zorro, and was a member of Platte Valley Lodge#32 AF & AM.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynne; his parents; and sister-in-law, Deanna Keslar.
Survivors include Zorro; brother-in-law, Gary (Debbie) Stanton of Omaha; and his friend, Betsy Pearce and her mother, Judy Pearce of Colorado.
In keeping with Rodney's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
Memorials are to Paws-itive Partners.  Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
