(North Platte, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin April 14 on U.S. Highway 183 (US-183), from reference post 72.62 to reference post 88.39, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Vontz Paving Inc. of Hastings is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge repair, milling, asphalt overlay, earth shoulder construction and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals, flaggers, and a pilot car.
Bridge repair work will begin April 14 at reference post 79.81. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect for the duration of the bridge repair work. The anticipated completion date for the bridge repair is May 2025.
Upon completion of the bridge repair, construction will be suspended until August when milling and asphalt work will commence. A 10-foot width restriction will be in effect for the duration of asphalt work. Anticipated project completion is Nov. 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
