It is with heavy hearts we announce that Billie Louise Hayes, passed away on April 26, 2024, in North Platte, NE, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and hard work.
Born on September 1, 1960, in Imperial, NE, to Glen and Billie Hayes, Billie's early years were marked by a strong sense of community and dedication to helping others. She graduated from Chase County Schools in 1978 and soon after began her career at Imperial Manor in 1983. Her unwavering commitment to excellence led her to retire as the Environmental Services Supervisor in March after four decades of service.
Billie was not only known for her professional achievements but also for her love of hobbies such as crocheting, gardening, and playing board games and card games with her family. She was a devoted supporter of her loved ones, always ready to lend an ear or offer advice. In addition to her career at Imperial Manor, Billie also served as a volunteer EMT for 41 years and shared her knowledge by teaching EMS classes throughout Southwest Nebraska and the panhandle for over 29 years. Billie was also recently awarded the Imperial Citizen of the Year Award for calendar year 2023 for her outstanding commitment to serving her community throughout her life.
Billie will be dearly missed by her surviving family members: her daughter Sabrina Hayes; brother Jim (Deb) Hayes; sister Tammy (Ben) Villarreal; nephews Armando (Lora) and their children, Jaxsen, Benjamin and Koral, Glen (Crystal) Villarreal and children, Mariska and Braelyn, Tim Wilson, Tyler (Kristina) Neben and their children, Travis, Darin, Jaret and Cort; her niece, Angie (Shane) Ryan and children, Gunner and Berkeley; great nieces, Kristina Pflum and her boyfriend, Kayl Richardson, Alexandria Pflum and her daughter, Heather Barrett; numerous cousins, friends, and members of the Imperial EMS family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joe and Danny Hayes; sisters, Dona and Ruth Ann Hayes; and niece Angie Villarreal.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Billie's life will be held at 5:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Imperial VFW Hall in Imperial, NE with Rob Browning officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Sabrina Hayes for a designation later.
