NORTH PLATTE - The Big Idea Live Event is taking place tomorrow evening at Venue 304 in North Platte. The social hour is scheduled at 5pm with the live pitches beginning at 6pm. The is no fee for admission and there will be a cash bar and food trucks available. The finalist in the community category is battling for prize money while the youth category is battling for scholarships.
Eagle Communications through the Schmidt Foundation has pledged $20,000 for the community category. First place will receive $10,000, second place receives $7,000 and finally third place receives $3,000. There are nine finalists for the community category.
Those nine finalists are:
Brandon Thomas, Joshua Howell, Jessica Braithwait, Nathan Goebel, Brandon McCook, Jordan Maassen, Tayler Eller, Rodger Farr, and Mindee Mohr.
Youth category finalist is looking to win scholarships that are made possible by Mid-Plains Community College. First place will receive $2,500, second place is $1,500 and third place is $1,000. The scholarships can be used at any Mid-Plains Community College campus. There are seven finalists for the youth category.
Those seven finalists are:
Aashi Naidoo, Rose Green, Ava Welch, Logan Robirds, Landon Shepherd, Dany Zheng, and Mason Giebler.
