(North Platte, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin July 15 on US-183, from reference post 89 to reference post 99, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction of Hastings is the contractor for this project. Work includes asphalt pavement overlay, earth shoulder construction and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions and a pilot car and flaggers. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Oct. 2024.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
