Posted Oct 20, 2023 5:00 PM

On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at approximately 3:10 P.M. the North Platte 911 Center received notification of 5 juveniles that ran from Greater Nebraska Youth Center located in the 2300 block of East 2nd Street.  Officers were dispatched to the area in an attempt to locate the juveniles.  While Officers were canvassing the area, the 911 Center sent an alert to the public to be on the lookout for the juveniles.

At approximately 5:15 P.M., the 911 Center received a report from a citizen of suspicious activity in the 2100 block of East E Street.  Upon arrival into the area, Officers found all 5 juveniles and detained them.  The juveniles were then returned to the Greater Nebraska Youth Center.

The juveniles ages range from 12 to 17 and are court-ordered to be placed at the Greater Nebraska Youth Center.  The juveniles are from various communities throughout Nebraska.  Due to their ages, lack of knowledge of the area, and resources the North Platte 911 Center placed an alert to the public for the juveniles safety.

We would like to thank the public for their assistance in the safe return of the juveniles.
