North Platte, NE - The Lincoln County Ag Society has voted not to renew its contract with BST Promotions, ending the company’s two-year run as the track promoter at Lincoln County Raceway. The decision, confirmed at a recent Ag Society meeting, comes after multiple seasons under promoter Joe Bellm.
BST Promotions announced the news on its Facebook page, noting the end of the contract and thanking fans for their support. Bellm, who has promoted at Lincoln County Raceway and other tracks for more than 25 years, expressed appreciation for the racing community in his post, highlighting the packed stands and dedicated fans throughout the past seasons.
Longtime driver Bryan Herrick, who has raced at the track for more than four decades, said Bellm managed the track well, keeping dust under control and filling the grandstands. “Joe did a good job. He filled the stands almost every night. Again, it would just go back to maybe a little more track maintenance, but they are doing everything they can with the dirt that’s on it,” Herrick said. He called the decision “sad” and noted it will be difficult for the Ag Society to find a promoter of similar experience and dedication.
Tria Hafer, who has worked in the ticket booth, said she was disappointed by the Ag Society’s decision but clarified she was not criticizing the board. “I’m not here to bash the Lincoln County Fairgrounds fairboard members…This man’s heart is 100% for the racing community and he has been doing this for more than 25 years,” she said. Hafer said she has witnessed multiple promoters come and go over the years, and sees Bellm’s departure as another blow to the local racing and demolition derby communities.
The 2025 season at Lincoln County Raceway featured 11 scheduled events, two of which were rained out, leaving nine completed races. Without a promoter, the future of racing at Lincoln County Raceway remains uncertain.
