The City of Ogallala will be chlorinating its municipal water supply system as part of a routine maintenance measure beginning Monday, September 21, 2026, and continuing through Friday, September 25.
The temporary chlorination is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain its water distribution system and help ensure the safety and quality of the community’s drinking water.
Residents may notice a slight taste or odor in their tap water during the maintenance period. These changes can occur when chlorine is added to a water supply, and the city is advising residents of the possibility ahead of the work.
The chlorination process is scheduled to continue through September 25. Residents with questions or concerns about the water maintenance may contact the City of Ogallala at 308-284-3925.
