Dennis Hartman was born February 15, 1944, to Henry and Gertrude Hartman in North Platte. He passed away at Centennial Park Retirement Home on November 5, 2023, at age 79.
Dennis grew up on the family farm south of Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School in 1962. He was skilled in many areas and worked in construction doing plumbing, carpentry work and iron work. His jobs took him to large projects that including doing siding work at the Gerald Gentleman Station at Sutherland for Davis Enterprises Construction; plumbing at the Coors Distributing Company in Golden, CO; iron work at Questa, NM; working on a new hospital at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs; and he installed radios in missiles for Martin-Merritta in Denver. Dennis loved working on various projects and he worked until 1983 when he became disabled.
Dennis was a member and inner church reserve of the First Baptist Church in North Platte.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; step sisters, Maxine Bellamy and Twylla Berg; and his son, Tim Hartman.
Survivors include his sons, Donnie Hartman of North Platte and Robert Hartman of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Melissa Hartman of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Danny and Bobbie Jo; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Angelina; his brother, Ted Hartman (Barbara) of Loma, CO; step brothers, Bill Songster (Marlene) and Dolan Berg of North Platte; as well as other family.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, November 10, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Doug Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery at Maxwell.
