North Platte Police issued fifty-three citations following a Speed Enforcement Campaign

  North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte Police Department participated in a Speed Enforcement Campaign funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), Highway Safety Office from July 5th through July 13th. A total of 162 traffic contacts were made department wide.

Fifty-three citations were issued. Fourteen citations were issued for speeding. Two DUI arrests were made. One Juvenile was cited for MIP. Five people were arrested/cited for Driving Under Suspension. Seven citations were issued for violation of traffic control devices. Two citations were issued for careless driving. One citation was issued for exhibition of speed. Six people were jailed on arrest warrants. One person wanted in Iowa fled in his vehicle leading to weapons charges, assault on an officer, flight to avoid arrest & criminal impersonation.

A subject facing theft charges in California was stopped in a semi-truck, which lead to his arrest for 8 counts of felony forgery. Two people were cited for possession of marijuana. One person was jailed for possession of a controlled substance.
