Work will begin on I-80 and L-51C, near Paxton

(North Platte, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin April 14 on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 144.20 to reference post 150.96 and from reference post 0.00 to reference post 0.26 on Link 51-C (L-51C), according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Western Engineering Company, Inc., of Harlan, Iowa is the contractor for this project. Work includes concrete repair, milling, asphalt overlay, earth shoulder construction, seeding, rumble strips, bridge repair and permanent pavement markings.

Traffic will be maintained with daytime lane closures and lane restrictions. Flagging and a pilot vehicle will be utilized on L-51C. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is July 2025.

The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
