OGALLALA, Neb. — As summer visitors flock to Keith County's lakes, attractions, restaurants and businesses, officials at the NACO West Training Center are encouraging organizations to consider the area for professional meetings, trainings and workshops.

The center is promoting the idea of hosting events closer to home rather than traveling to larger cities, highlighting both the convenience for organizations and the potential benefits for local businesses.

According to NACO West, local meetings can provide opportunities for participants to experience many of the same attractions that draw tourists to the area each year, including Lake McConaughy, local golf courses, restaurants, shops and community attractions.

Officials say hosting events locally can also reduce travel-related expenses while keeping spending within the region.

The NACO West Training Center, located in Ogallala, offers meeting and training space designed specifically for professional gatherings. Center representatives say the facility includes technology and room layouts intended to support communication, collaboration and training activities.

In addition to serving local organizations, NACO West is encouraging members of statewide associations to consider Keith County when selecting locations for future conferences and meetings.

Organizers say bringing events to the area provides attendees with an opportunity to experience western Nebraska while supporting local businesses and community amenities.

As summer continues, NACO West officials hope organizations will take advantage of the area's recreational opportunities and consider local venues when planning future meetings and professional events.
