North Platte, NE - Vice President JD Vance announced a $1.3 billion investment in domestic fertilizer manufacturing during a rally Thursday at the D&N Event Center in North Platte.

Vance said the investment will support American agriculture and manufacturing, with Talus Ag among two companies receiving funding. Talus Ag plans to open two manufacturing facilities in Nebraska.

According to Vance, the investment is expected to help 32,000 farmers working more than 4 million acres across the country access fertilizer at lower costs.

He said the initiative is intended to reduce reliance on foreign production by making fertilizer in the United States to support farmers and the nation’s food supply.
