North Platte, Neb. – The Knights women’s basketball team (19-12) will host North Iowa Area Community College (25-6) on Saturday for the Northwest Plains District A Championship. Tip is set for 4 p.m.
NOTABLES
- North Platte punched their ticket after defeating Southeast Community College last Saturday in the Region IX Championship, 66-33. The win marks the fourth Region IX title for the Knights in the last five years.
- North Platte is 8-3 this season when they have outrebounded their opponent. Knights are first in DII Region IX in offensive rebounds averaging 17.9 per game, while averaging 43.1 total rebounds per contest this season.
- North Platte ranks sixth in the nation while averaging 16.5 steals per game during the 2024-25 campaign.
- Knights are 17-9 in games where they have double digit steals.
- Nariah and Neveah Golden have been a staple in the Knights dominating defense over the past two years. The twins from Denver, Colo. combine for 17.6 points, 6.3 assists and 5.6 steals per game this season.
- EmmaJo Locks is a new face for the black and gold this season. She is a key player in the Knights offense, often orchestrating from the point guard position. Locks averages 6.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.5 assists in 29 minutes per game this season.
