Lynn Gordon Haarberg was born July 10, 1941, in Imperial, Nebraska to Henry and Esther (Buss) Haarberg. Lynn grew up in the Wauneta area and attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and was baptized on July 27, 1941 and later confirmed into the faith on April 3, 1955.
Lynn graduated from Wauneta High School in 1959 and worked briefly for Frontier Airlines in Lincoln, NE. This lasted a short period of time until Lynn was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country from 1964-1965 during the Viet Nam Conflict.
Upon his return from service, Lynn met and married the love of his life, Darlene Baldonado on November 26, 1967 a love which lasted until 2016 when Darlene passed away. The couple farmed and ranched Charolais Cattle on the North Divide until retiring in 2004 when Lynn and Darlene decided to move into Wauneta.
Lynn is survived by his daughter, Theresa Haarberg of Lincoln, NE; his brother, Kent Haarberg and wife Elaine of Kearney, NE; sister-in-law, Sharon Haarberg of Wauneta, NE.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Haarberg; his parents; and brother, Lavon Haarberg.
Public Visitation for Lynn will be held from 5:00 p.m. MT - 7:00 p.m. MT on Tuesday, September 19 at Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. MT, Wednesday, September 20, at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta with Pastor Keith Wellman officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cancer Partners of Nebraska in care of Theresa Haarberg.
