The North Platte Police Department participated in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over DUI enforcement campaign which took place from December 15th, 2023 through January 1st, 2024.
Department wide, thirteen drivers were arrested for DUI-Alcohol and one driver was arrested for DUI-Drugs. Two juveniles were cited for being Minors in Possession of Alcohol. Two people were cited for having open containers of alcohol. Two people were arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and four people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Over two hundred traffic contacts were made with a total of sixty-five citations issued. Officers issued twenty-three speeding citations, nine citations for traffic signals, and ten drivers were jailed or ticketed for driving under suspension. The North Platte Police Department would like to thank our citizens for their part in making the Christmas and New Year Holidays safe.
