Carroll Eugene Greene, passed away on August 12, 2024 in Imperial, Nebraska. He was born on March 17, 1930, in Benkelman, Nebraska, to Joseph Greene Sr. and Vera (Bricker) Greene.

Carroll led a fulfilling life as a Farmer and Rancher on the South Divide Line, embodying the values of hard work and dedication. Growing up his family regularly attended the Prairie Rose Country Methodist Church. He was educated at Ashgrove Elementary Country School and later, the halls of Wauneta High School, graduating with the class of 1948. Carroll played in every sport in High School with baseball being his favorite. 

During the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, upon being drafted, Carroll served in the Army with distinction. For two years, he honed his skills as a field wireman and communication staff sergeant, demonstrating courage and commitment to his country.

Aside from his military service and agricultural pursuits, Carroll enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in his earlier years. His love for sports carried on as an adult, being a big fan of the Nebraska Huskers, rarely missing a game. Carroll met the love of his life Ruth Lorraine Goble at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Denver, CO. The couple married in 1962 and eventually made their home in Imperial, NE. The couple danced together for over 40 years and were especially fond of traveling to the Elks Club in McCook to dance, where Carroll was a longtime member. 

One of Carroll's many accomplishments was his membership at Frenchman Valley Coop, a testament to his strong work ethic and community spirit.

Carroll is survived by his loving daughter, Lori Ann Greene, who will cherish his memory forever. He is also survived by his grandsons, Sean Loeffler and Joshua Loeffler; great granddaughters Nia Marie Loeffler and Alani Lucia Loeffler, soon to arrive in November, great grandson Oliver; nieces, nephews and cousins. Their lives have been touched by his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love.

In his passing, Carroll is reunited with his wife, Ruth; his parents; his brothers Joseph Greene Jr. (Gloria), Glenard (Colleen) Greene; his sister, Virginia (George) King, and his niece Sylvia Large. 

Carroll Eugene Greene's legacy as a devoted family man, a skilled farmer, and a proud serviceman will endure through the generations. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Imperial Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Loy Officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
