Ogallala, Ne - The Sandhills Post along with Flatrock 100.7 & Z 93.5 Country are happy to announce that longtime radio account executive Karen Potts has joined the Eagle Media team in our Ogallala territory. Potts says "I was a former account executive with KOGA starting with Ray Lockhart and then IHeart Media for nearly 30 years, to quote Shakespeare “The Wheel is come full circle.” "
I love seeing things come full circle, people, relationships, experiences. It’s a sense of completion, a sense of peace. Full circle is what happened to me in radio. I was born in Grant and grew up in Ogallala. I had my very first job in radio with KOGA in high school. At that time, I was on the air and remember having to play a polka song once every hour. Being on air was not for me, (imagine me being too shy) and I never imagined that I would return to radio but in 1993, after 10 years working in real estate in Southern California I came back."
Eagle Media opened their Ogallala office at 2 North Spruce Street last spring, in that time "we've worked hard to become neighbors and partners with many Keith County and area businesses through our 24/7 Local News website SandhillsPost.com, and the 2 Keith County radio stations we operate, Flatrock 100.7 & Z 93.5 Country" said Ogallala Sales Director Carla Beck. The tower for both of those radio stations is just south of Paxton.
Potts went on to say "Now, I’m proud to be a part of the Eagle Media staff and returning to radio after taking some time off ; I’m even more proud, however, of my 4 children and my marriage before losing my husband Les in 2019. When I’m not working, I enjoy my family visiting, and spending time at the lake with family and friends. Full circle doesn’t have to mean no changes. Since the ‘70’s, we’ve gone from AM and FM stations, to streaming digital, the possibilities are endless, I am looking forward to being given the opportunity to work with the Eagle Media Team".
