Dean Errol Hiser was born in 1941 to Fred and Lena (Daddow) Hiser. He was raised on a farm six miles west of Litchfield, Nebraska, with three siblings and attended a country grade school through the eighth grade. He spent his high school years in Litchfield, including two summers putting up hay in the Sandhills.

After graduating from high school, Dean went to Denver to attend the National Electronics Institute and later continued his education at Kearney State College, where he studied business. He opened a TV and electronics service store in Ord, Nebraska.

In 1967, Dean was united in marriage to Valerie Sims. In 1970, they moved their business to North Platte and opened Dean’s TV and Electronics.

Dean had a deep love for fishing and proudly earned many Master Angler awards. Every year he would say, “I wonder if I’ll ever say I’ve done too much fishing this year.” More importantly, Dean was a fisher of men, leading many to know Jesus Christ as their Savior- what he considered his very best catches.

Dean cherished his two daughters, Becki (Shawn) Wardyn and Billi Jo (Kelly) Cox; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren- with another on the way; and four in-laws. Twenty-four foster children were welcomed into the Hiser home, where Dean lovingly cared for each as his own.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Bethel Church, with Pastor Geoff Safford officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00p.m. at Litchfield Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Odean Colonial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
