Jeff William Ryun, 48, of North Platte passed away July 8, 2026 at his home. He was born November 1, 1977 to Richard and Irene (Rundback) Ryun in North Platte.
Jeff loved football and played throughout school, graduating from North Platte High School with the class of 1996. He then attended Mid-Plains HVAC program. Jeff hired on Union Pacific Railroad in 1999 as a Fireman/Oiler and continued there until his passing. He loved all sports and could always state the current season's standings. Jeff enjoyed a good game of golf or just hitting balls with his buddies. He was always the first to reach out to a friend or family member in need, offering comfort or anything else he could do to help. He also loved dogs. He advocated for every stray animal or shelter dog to find a home. Jeff was a happy person who enjoyed playing jokes on those he could get away with and giving his family and friends a hard time.
Survivors include his mother, Irene (Gary) Branham of North Platte; sisters, Jodi (Jerry) Powers of Hampton, NE, Kris Black of Florida, Christy (Clint) Sheets of Wallace, Gina (James) Spellman of North Platte, Goni Branham of Cozad; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Dick” Ryun.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., with family present from 4:00-7:00, Monday, July 13, 2026 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
