Mary Lou Crews, age 84 of Brule died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Edgewood Memory Care Facility in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Mary Lou was born on January 22, 1940, in Brule, Nebraska to James and Ella (Bauer) Comer. She attended Brule schools and graduated from Brule High School in 1957.

Mary Lou married Paul D. Crews on June 14, 1959, at the First Congregational Church in Brule, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Ogallala and had such a great love for Lake McConaughy that they built a log home on the lake.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Crews; a daughter-in-law Melodee Thompson Crews; a brother Jimmy Comer and, a sister Maxine Kipp.

Mary Lou is survived by her son Craig (Wendy) Crews of Summerset, South Dakota; her daughter Julie (Kim) Hothan of Ogallala, Nebraska; brother Kenny (Fran) Comer of Brule, Nebraska; sister Lois Schuett of Kearney, Nebraska and sister-in-law Rosie Comer; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Draucker Funeral Home Chapel from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 am in the  Ogallala Cemetery in Ogallala, Nebraska with Reverend Curt Magelky of the United Methodist Church of Ogallala officiating.
