Multiple tornados rip through area Thursday night; damage near Lake McConaughy

Ogallala, Ne - Multiple reports of tornadoes in Garden, Keith, Perkins and Lincoln counties Thursday began to come in from weather spotters and National Weather Service personell as early as 5pm MDT. Reports came in from Brule, Lemoyne, just west of Ogallala, south of Roscoe and northeast of Grant.

There were reports from the Nebraska State Patrol of damage from debris on railroad tracks near Lemoyne and Sandy Beach Road. In fact it was reported that Sandy Beach was closed due to search and rescue attempts although the POST has not confirmed that as of this story.

Sirens began to sound around 8:30pm local time in North Platte. The tornado in question was south of North Platte, southwest of Lake Maloney.

6:18pm MDT - 4 miles ESE of Grant (reported by public)

6:28pm MDT - 8 miles south of Paxton (reported by social media)

7:29pm CDT - 6 miles north of Wallace (reported by law enforcement)

8:25pm CDT - 10 miles SE of Grainton (confirmed by trained weather spotter)

9:03pm CDT - 2 miles south of Lake Maloney (confirmed by trained weather spotter)

9:18pm CDT - 9 miles sw of Maxwell (reported by public)
