First responders respond to a fire call in Ogallala early Tuesday morning

Ogallala, Neb. - First responders responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning in Ogallala. 

According to the Ogallala Volunteer Fire Department (OVFD), in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 9th, county tones dropped for a structure fire in the city. The tones dropped around 4:00am (MT). The Ogallala Police Department (OPD) were first on scene and controlled traffic while crews battled the fire. 

The OVFD says in a release that the home was vacant and that the structure is standing but a total loss due to collapsed floors and other issues within the structure.  

The OVFD responded to the scene with command, 2 engines, ladder, and utility. The Keith County Emergency Management was on scene to provide support and rehab. Grant EMS were also called in due to high call volumes. 

According to officials, no civilians or fire fighters were injured during the incident. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
