On January 17th, 2024 at 11:53 P.M., Officers from the North Platte Police Department responded to Newberry Access on the report of an accident.&nbsp; It was found that the accident occurred near the Westbound I-80 on-ramp.&nbsp; A semi-truck was Northbound and attempted to turn left onto the Westbound on-ramp.

 A pick-up truck was Southbound on Newberry.&nbsp; The pickup truck ran into the right side of the semi-tractor.&nbsp; The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.&nbsp; The driver of the pickup truck was fifty-one-year-old, Jean Pierre Brownell of North Platte.&nbsp; The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.

The investigation into the vehicle crash is ongoing.&nbsp; The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and the Nebraska State Patrol are assisting with the investigation.
