Broken Bow, NE- Thomas K. Hilkemeier age 68 of Broken Bow died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Community Memorial Health in Burwell.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the O’Neill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. A rosary service will be Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the family. In honor of Tom please wear your Husker attire, New York Jets attire, or pink colors for breast cancer awareness. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Tom was born on September 12, 1955, in West Palm Beach, Florida to Delbert and Janice (Grosse) Hilkemeier. Less than two years later, their family was completed with his younger brother Al. They lived several places in Tom’s younger life due to Delbert being in the Military. They settled in O’Neill, NE where Tom graduated from High School in 1973.
Tom married the love of his life Donna Murphy on August 18, 1984. They had four children and settled their lives in Broken Bow, NE.
Tom enjoyed working at radio stations in O’Neill, Albion, and Broken Bow. He had a love for sports, horseracing, fishing, and his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife Donna, son Michael (Chantelle) Hilkemeier and children Brady, Lincoln, Nathaniel, Charlotte, and Westley, daughters Abby Hilkemeier and son James, Ashley (Nick) Cool and children Khale, Rayna, and Dexter, and Michaela Hilkemeier and fur baby Paisley, also he is survived by two daughters by heart Cass Huffman, and Jordan Albus, brother Al (Bev) Hilkemeier, special friends Dustin and Christina Kettleborough, and Larry Cotnoir.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and stepdad Gene Cromwell.
