WASHINGTON —On Tuesday, President Donald Trump and his Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced that Witkoff left Russian airspace with Marc Fogel, an American who was detained by Russia since 2021, according to a statement from the White House.

President Trump, Witkoff and the President's advisors negotiated an exchange that serves as a show of good faith from Russia and a sign we are moving in the right direction to end the burtal and terrible war in Ukraine.
"Since President Trump's swearing-in, he has successfully secured the released of Americans around the world and he will continue until all Americans being held are returned to the United States."
Marc Fogel is expected to be back on American soil and reunited with family and loved ones tonight, according to the release.
